Why am I hearing that hes interested in Iowa..I thought he was ours to lose? Not spreading rumor here guys...I really want this kid in Crimson. ROLL TIDE
Yep, I don't get the Iowa interest either. Maybe there is some family connection. Iowa seems to underachieve each year that they're picked to do great things.

I will say this though. If he doesn't want to put on the crimson jersey next year then by all means Go Hawkeyes. I'd much rather him be in Big Ten than Auburn.

The last few pages in this thread are a curious case study: why not to attack a poster you don't know, how a possibly very knowledgable poster learns the ropes of a certain message board, how they handle an attack, how the attacker enjoys his egg. As m_b mentioned, players and their families READ.THESE.BOARDS. We should always bear that in mind, including me. I've said some dumb stuff on here that I'm not proud of, but I'm learning. If someone is a poser, they will hang themself. Let 'em. If they're not a poser, let 'em contribute, share info, etc. Personally, I'm glad this situation happened, to serve as a reminder, even in an area that I've struggled. So, to the member of the Kouandjio family, welcome to the site. And I look forward to your contributions to this site for the next 4 to 5 years... Right? LOL

Is there any real reason to worry about cyrus?
There is no signed LOI and he seems to be taking the process seriously. I think most would agree that he is probably a Bama lean (or heavy lean) but we've seen what "committed" recruits have done in K. Allen and Calloway and ones considered "heavy leans" in M. Mitchell. Recruiting is very fluid, so there are no guarantees until the faxed LOI comes in.

Well is Auburn a big player in his recruitment or not?

I couldn't agree with you more. There are some people on the board that just seem to have no home training. If you wouldn't say something to someone's face, then don't say it from behind a computer screen. It is all about common courtesy. There are excellent moderators on this board whose job it is to check each new member. They don't need a bunch of rude armchair detectives doing that for them.

If any of these recruits has a family member reading these boards, you can guarantee that person shows them anything they may "need" to see. Let's do a good job as fans and make everyone feel welcome--until the mods tell us otherwise.:rolleye2:

Personally, I can't wait until Nick Saban Day (NSD, hehe)!! I think we finish strong and start the year off with a bang!! RTR!!

MB, there's a separate forum for that, during the season. It's a bit moribund, of course, with the time of year. Just go to the top and select "other boards," and come down to "RVers and Tailgaters," or something like that. Also, just before FB season and, depending on weather, just before the A-Day game, there will be posts about tailgating on the FB forum....

Again, if you put out an appeal on the football forum and make it know that you're a relative of a Bama player (hopefully two, but you'll be welcome, anyway), you will have more invitations than you can handle...

Someone help me. I am trying to think of two BCS-caliber athletes that were brothers, and attended different schools at the same time. I'm having some trouble thinking of any brothers at all. I don't think brothers enrolled at different times is relevant (like the Haden brothers).

Well, like all true Bama fans, I hope we get Cyrus to come to our great institution and I hope he realizes his full potential as a student and athlete. As he has mentioned, it's about him and what's best for him though. If he and his family feels that there is a better path for him, I hope i can speak for all of us in saying that we wish him well in his future endeavors. Sometimes we as fans forget that it's not always about us and our interests. Like most of you, I want Alabama to have the most dominating team in all of college football. But we all know it's not for us to judge someone making a critical decision in their life. But selfishly I'd like to see him in Crimson, pancaking defensive linemen, LB's, and DB's from our opponents. Come on down Cyrus. We need you.

I thought I'd accidently logged on to BOL for a second there. Much like the Britt family in Cullman the Kouandjio family probably has a gigantic grocery bill, and very very large doors in their house. Welcome to the board, this is the best Crimson Tide message board around and I hope you stay. Your insight is very appreciated by those of us who don't have any "inside sources"and I for one hope you continue to post. Thank you.

Javiar Arenas CB Alabama, his brother Armando Murillo CB Nebraska.

how quickly we forget

He(Javiar) is the cousin of Orlando Magic All-Star point guard Gilbert Arenas. His brother Armando Murillo was a Golden Helmet winner at Robinson High School in Tampa and started at defensive back for the University of Nebraska in 2007 and 2008.[citation needed]

Haha, as the season gets closer, feel free to shoot me a PM/FB and you can tailgate with us, too. Any idea what number Cyrus is going to wear at Bama :)?
