QB Gunner Kiel Updates

If we get either one of these guys we will be in great shape. This just sets us up in the near future with a potent passing attack.

We need a go to, dominate WR to compliment that potent attack.

I also would love to get Gunner, just think Winston is going to go the MLB route. I would love for Winston to come to Bama, but dont think that is the way he is headed.

Is is a stretch to compare Kiel to Namath or Stabler? I am hearing those type of comparisons, when some discuss his talent level. Thoughts?

I've only seen the one highlight reel on YouTube. But he reminds me of that big kid that played at Florida a few years back, but with better mechanics.

When is Gunner going to announce?

No one really knows when he is going to announce. He said it wouldnt be in a big press conference or anything. He would simply just call the coaches and let them know of his decision.

I agree. It seems like forever that Maze, Hanks, Julio and a little Earl Alexander were the only WR's with any meaningful production. There are opportunities this year for our cast of WR's to breakout and become productive. Having a good passer like a Gunner Kiel would help the production and confidence in a WR core. I hope to see our WR's have a great year under Sims and AJ and my fingers are crossed we get Kiel for the future.

I'm hoping Duron Carter can fill this role as well as Maze, Hanks, Gibson and White.

I think Carter will be that big WR we need and lets not forget about about Shinn. It might pnly be a freshman come fall but he has the size and skill to play.

There are also a lot of people that follow Bama recruiting very closely saying that the chances are looking very good that Kiel will choose Bama. Even though Kiel has not named an overall favorite I am extremely optimistic by what I am hearing.

Gunner Kiel is not giving any hints about where he's going - ESPN

The Under Armour All-American has kept things very close to the vest thus far and will continue to do so until he's ready to make a final announcement.

"It's going to be a personal decision and one that I'm going to keep with myself and my family," Kiel said. "Whenever I'm ready to make that decision, I'm going to tell my family, my coaches and my teammates before it gets to the public."

I hope you're right Airborne. Kiel seems to have good character. Wherever he goes I'll bet he becomes the recruiting bellcow. Any chance DGB follows Gunner?

I don't have any knowledge on the subject, but I understand the common thought is where Gunner goes jumps DGB's list.

Geting Gunner Keil helps our chances with Dorial Beckham-Green a lot. What a recruiting class this will be setting up to be if we land those two among the others we're in the mix for.

I'd love to see Gunner commit to us in a month and then everyone assumes that Winston won't come but maybe we could still land Lambert. How great would that be if we could land DGB after just losing Julio. That would be awesome

Funny you should mention DGB. I am also hearing very encouraging reports about him and Bama here lately. The word is that he is higher on Bama than most folks think. Kiel and DGB would be a lethal Bama pass and catch duo for sure if they both came to Bama. :cool2:

I just hope we can get some decent players this class. I'm not sure we are going to be able to get too many good ones.
