I will simply replicate below my original - and only other substantive post on this fabulous site - which, while in a different thread [re the most interesting place one has ever encountered a Bama fan] I think / hope is also appropriate for this thread.
Of course, as you will see below, it also happens to be my one and only Bama game experience.
Needless to say, I hope to change that...

"Just registered on this fabulous site - which I have been monitoring for some time now...
Have been a huge Bama fan since the mid '70's up here in Canada...
Long story short, fast forward 35 years, when I surprised my 12 y/o son [not to mention myself, as well as his mother] w ticks at the 50 yard line this past Christmas for the Capital One Bowl in Orlando - when we were already going to be down there on Boxing week - to see:
My 1st ever NCAA game!
My 1st ever bowl game!!
My 1st ever Bama game!!!
I cannot begin to describe my feelings when:
1. We were driving to Universal, and I happened to notice Dr. Phillips High School, at which point chivalry died, as, knowing that the Tide was practising there, I dropped them off to see Harry Potter, and I hauled ... back to try to watch the Tide practice. [Since it was a closed practice, I nearly got arrested, but it was worth it!]
2. I joined my family at Universal, and before I even made it into the park proper, another guy saw my Bama T-shirt and said "Roll Tide, brother". As did many other Tide fans who were at the park that day.
3. Coach Saban, GMaC, Mark Ingram and company came running out of the tunnel at the start of the game. The team that I had been watching on TV [whenever I could up here in Canada] since the mid-'70's, the players and coach whom I had watched win the National Championship the previous year, were there, right before my eyes. I'm not ashamed to admit that I was moved to tears by the moment, and will never, ever forget the feeling I had inside my chest that day, as we watched the Tide execute right before our very eyes.
I'll end this long post by saying that the Tide fans whom I met while at the game in Florida showed me more warmth than I could ever describe. And when some of them found out that we were Tide fans from Canada who came down to see the game, well they couldn't get over it.
I'm sure you all are as proud as I am to be a Tide fan, and who knows, God willing, one day we'll somehow make it down to Tuscaloosa for a game.
Now that would be heaven on earth..."
