Ditto on the 1979 and 1993 Sugar Bowl National Chamipnship games.
Plus, Snake Stabler running in the rain and the muck at Legion Field to beat Auburn in the 4th quarter.

I went to both of these games. UT game was VERY cool. It was my first away game, and I remember driving up with a friend. I couldn't believe the number of Bama cars headed to the game that we saw on the the way there. Very cool atmosphere, and I'll always remember watching the Vol fans file out of Neyland at the start of the 4th quarter.

The State game was a little less enjoyable mainly because of the weather. It was a night game, and it was VERY cold. Raining too....or it may have been sleet. My friend and I sat in the upper deck, and the wind was so strong. We were bundled up in blankets and everything. We finally just left when we couldn't take it anymore and watched the rest of the game in the Ferguson Center.
Yes it was cold raining sleeting night but until you said that I didn't even remember it. It was such a joy to finally be in BDS. The ut fans leaving the end of the third quarter kills me. Ive been to the last two games there with my in-laws who are ut fans. They want to get there for the vol walk and all. I hate going that early but I tell them if you drag me there that early then don't go calling to leave early. And both games they start wanting to leave during the 3rd quarter but I drive so they just sit and wait in the parking lot. This year I told them next time I would find them some tickets for the game that are good for the entire game and do not require you to leave at the end of the third quarter. The in-laws also always gave me crap about the rammer jammer. The last time at ut when they started the F*** You Bama chant I sent the a message and said I never want to here crap about the rammer jammer.

ROLL TIDE!!!!

I remember my first game at BDS. I had been to some Legion Field games but never a game at BDS. It was against Duke when Shula was still coach. I don't remember what year it was. Horrible, horrible game. I think we barely won, but I still thought it was SO cool. Now, I try to make it down to as many games as I can.

2009 game in Starkville is up there too. I was sitting in the dead center of the MSU faculty/staff section with a former roommate (and one of my groomsmen) from Bama who is a faculty member at MSU. MSU had little to cheer about, and Bama had everything to cheer about. We got a LOT of cold stares from the faculty, and "Sit down!!" (which we didn't). When Mark had the +/- 75 yard run up the gut, I leaned over to my buddy and said "Hello Heisman!" doing my best Keith Jackson. After the game, some inebriated MSU frat came up to me and said "Yawl gawn git chawmped by Flarduh" (translated: "Y'all going to get chomped by Florida") to which I uncharacteristically replied something like: "Yeah, but at least we're playing them in Atlanta" and walked off.

Only downside...
THOSE STUPID COWBELLS
(I was half deaf for the next week)

Also, 2009 USCe game. Second date with Mrs. Tide in Oxford, and first time she saw my complete change in personality when Bama is playing.

1999 in Gainesville. What a game. A coworker got four tickets and three of us and his mother went. What a blast. I don't know who was shocked more, the Florida fans or me. That is when I first realized that Florida fans have no idea at all how to dress for a game. Other than that, I really liked the Florida fans and have more or less been on their side ever since. Most enjoyable 8 hour ride home ever!
2001 in Auburn. Zow had a great game as did just about the entire team. Was great seeing that stadium almost empty in the 4th quarter.
2002 in Fayetteville. Opening play Shaud goes 80 yards for a TD and it never let up. I don't recall feeling sorry for Nutt that night, or ever for that matter.
1993 in Oxford. Palmer played a good bit of quarterback and the Tide willed a win. To say the Rebel fans were upset would be quite an understatement.
1992 Auburn in Legion Field. I remember coming out of the stadium knowing we just clinched the national championship.

Too many others to name. Let's try to add one to this list for next year! Roll Tide!

Been to a bunch of good Bama games but probably the best one was at LSU in '98. Really back and forth until the end when it looked like LSU was going to end it's losing streak to Bama at Death Valley. Well, inside of maybe the last 4 minutes, Bama comes back to win. It was really painful to endure but the ending was priceless.

The 2010 Penn State game in BDS. Being the big Lion fans we are, we when be got the chance to come down to Alabama to a game, we jumped on it! What an experience! The campus, the museum, the overwhelming fan hospitality, and coach for not running up the score!!! I hope we can extend the same for all of you coming up in Sept. And try to take it easy on us!!! Try to stay below 50 points!!!!

You are emblematic of the Penn St. Nation, and Penn St. is the only Big 10 team, and non conference team I really like. I've always enjoyed the competition ever since way back in the Liberty bowl!

I will simply replicate below my original - and only other substantive post on this fabulous site - which, while in a different thread [re the most interesting place one has ever encountered a Bama fan] I think / hope is also appropriate for this thread.

Of course, as you will see below, it also happens to be my one and only Bama game experience.

Needless to say, I hope to change that...

"Just registered on this fabulous site - which I have been monitoring for some time now...

Have been a huge Bama fan since the mid '70's up here in Canada...

Long story short, fast forward 35 years, when I surprised my 12 y/o son [not to mention myself, as well as his mother] w ticks at the 50 yard line this past Christmas for the Capital One Bowl in Orlando - when we were already going to be down there on Boxing week - to see:

My 1st ever NCAA game!

My 1st ever bowl game!!

My 1st ever Bama game!!!

I cannot begin to describe my feelings when:

1. We were driving to Universal, and I happened to notice Dr. Phillips High School, at which point chivalry died, as, knowing that the Tide was practising there, I dropped them off to see Harry Potter, and I hauled ... back to try to watch the Tide practice. [Since it was a closed practice, I nearly got arrested, but it was worth it!]

2. I joined my family at Universal, and before I even made it into the park proper, another guy saw my Bama T-shirt and said "Roll Tide, brother". As did many other Tide fans who were at the park that day.

3. Coach Saban, GMaC, Mark Ingram and company came running out of the tunnel at the start of the game. The team that I had been watching on TV [whenever I could up here in Canada] since the mid-'70's, the players and coach whom I had watched win the National Championship the previous year, were there, right before my eyes. I'm not ashamed to admit that I was moved to tears by the moment, and will never, ever forget the feeling I had inside my chest that day, as we watched the Tide execute right before our very eyes.

I'll end this long post by saying that the Tide fans whom I met while at the game in Florida showed me more warmth than I could ever describe. And when some of them found out that we were Tide fans from Canada who came down to see the game, well they couldn't get over it.

I'm sure you all are as proud as I am to be a Tide fan, and who knows, God willing, one day we'll somehow make it down to Tuscaloosa for a game.

Now that would be heaven on earth..."

Thank you for posting, we gave my son, daughter & her husband tickets to the Captial One Bowl. We went to Orlando the weekend before & saw the Million Dollar Band they had a great time.

The thing I have found about going to a Alabama game is you are around family. No strangers, everyone is friendly.

They are truly blessed to have Grandparents like yourselves, Tom.

And I'm sure they know it.

As for your comment about being around family when going to an Alabama game, boy, can I ever echo that sentiment.

Of course, at this point, I only have the experience of that one game to draw from.

But man, did it ever bear [no pun intended] out what you say above...

In that regard, I don't have the words to describe how much I enjoy this board.

The only problem is, it's cutting into my productivity at work!

And since I run my own business, that's not good...

RUSH!!! Welcome to TideFans!! We are so glad you're finally here and hope you continue to join us as often as you can. ROLL TIDE FRIEND!!

Ok, my FAVORITE game attended was the 1st ever SECCG in 92. When Langham intercepted for a pick 6 I've never heard a BAMA crowd that loud since. It was so cold and actually a few flurries, but we didn't care. The best part was those tickets only cost us $60 each. That was a fortune to us back then with a newborn. That's my favorite, in person, game ever.

That said, I still get excited at every game. There is nothing on earth like the feeling I get when watching the Tide with so many others who LOVE them just as much as I do!! Lord, the season can't get here soon enough. ROLL TIDE!!

I've been to quite a few games such as: Florida 2005, Tennessee 2009, etc.
But my favorite memory came in Nashville in 2007, AKA Saban's first SEC win at Alabama. My brother is a Vandy grad, and decided that we should sit in the Vanderbilt student section. At first I was surrounded by students. Then before Vandy came out in the tunnel, their band played the Rammer Jammer tune. I quickly picked up on it and started yelling "Hey Vandy, we're gonna beat the heck outta you! Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer, give'em heck Alabama!" Which started clearing a nice bubble around me and my brother. Then as we started putting the boot down, I apparently was a little obnoxious and by the end of the third quarter had a nice eight to ten bleacher buffer on the nearest Vandy student. So I single-handedly demoralized their student section, embarrassed by brother, and witnessed Saban's first SEC win. Good times indeed!

#1- I got to attend the first SEC championship game. Langham intercepted a Florida pass down near the endzone to win the game. I was only about 13. I still don't know how my dad came up with those tickets, but I won't forget it.

#2 - Alabama Vs GA in 94. Bama down at halftime against the Eric Zeier-led bulldogs. Jay Barker threw the ball all over the field in the second half to come back and win the game. Awesome experience.
