Turns out Herman Cain may have been a bad boy.....

You can probably find this on everyone. Says that is was talk and innuendo at a hotel prob over drinks. Things like this happen, right or wrong. I bet most of us have said some things to the opposite sex that if we were public figures might get us into legal troubles.
Bingo. "Sexual harassment" has gotten to be about as broad stroked as racism and homophobia. Whatever.

Correct. I've had things said about me in the past too. They weren't true, and it took me a while to convince those that had heard it that they were lies. Instead of publicly defending myself on the issue, I chose instead to walk away from it and put the accuser out of my life. I haven't talked to her or responded to any of her attempts to contact me.
I'm sure most everyone here has had that type of person in their lives, and to their regret. Sometimes they just aren't worth the hassles that knowing them entails.

It didn't take the Lame Stream Media long to jump on the band wagon to try to discredit and destroy Cain - just as long as it took him to reach the top of the polls.

I don't believe a word the LSM says - they're a bunch of lying SOBs - libs, Obama lovers, etc.. you name it...

If I could vote today, I'd still vote for Herman Cain.

Bumper sticker: "Beat Obama with a Cain" still holds true for me.

Unfortunately, Reb, when you're in the public eye - as running for office - you may not have a choice but coming forth and defending yourself.

Why is it that all a woman has to do is accuse a man of something and she's believed over his word?

I'm getting so sick of politics, politicians, and dirty tricks.

...and the hits just keep on coming for Cain. Darn those pesky campaign fiance laws!

Herman Cain's two top campaign aides ran a private Wisconsin-based corporation that helped the GOP presidential candidate get his fledgling campaign off the ground by originally footing the bill for tens of thousands of dollars in expenses for such items as iPads, chartered flights and travel to Iowa and Las Vegas - something that might breach federal tax and campaign law, according to sources and documents. Internal financial records obtained by No Quarter show that Prosperity USA said it was owed about $40,000 by the Cain campaign for a variety of items in February and March. Cain began taking donations for his presidential bid on Jan. 1.

Prosperity USA was owned and run by Wisconsin political operatives Mark Block and Linda Hansen, Cain's current chief of staff and deputy chief of staff, respectively.

The authenticity of the records was verified by two individuals close to the firm.

It is not known if Cain's election fund eventually paid back Prosperity USA, which now appears defunct. The candidate's federal election filings make no mention of the debt, and the figures in the documents don't match payments made by the candidate's campaign.

In addition to picking up these expenses at least initially, Prosperity USA also paid as much as $100,000 to the Congress of Racial Equality, a conservative black organization, shortly before Cain was a featured speaker at the group's annual Martin Luther King Jr. dinner in mid-January.

if i could think of one person the "libs" would love to see getting the republican nomination, it would be herman cain. this is coming out of some republican camp.

Whether this hurts him or not, I still don't expect Cain to last much longer as the front-runner or second place guy.

The only question is who will replace Cain as the non-Romney candidate? Gingrich? Will Ron Paul's support increase? I'm not sure there's another one person for the non-Romney camp to rally behind. Santorum? Huntsman? I don't think so.

i still think perry gets back some momentum. gingrich doesn't have a chance. i doubt paul will get much of a boost. i think he has a definite upper limit of support that is well below the threshold needed to grab the nom.

I don't like Herman Cain because I don't think he has the experience or the temperament to be president. That being said, I think these allegations should be taken with a flat of salt. Interesting that they came up now, when he is competing for the lead in the race. High tech lynching indeed.

And Obama had experience enough when he ran?

Considering it sounds liek there were two settlements paid, I'd say this is a bit more than 'she said'...

Maybe they paid the settlements in order to avoid costly legal fees of defending an innocent man? It happens. But it certainly looks like 'hush money'.

Which is why I always laugh at the whole "Well, I've been in an executive position before!" argument. You might have been a governor, but the responsibilities of that office (Regardless the state) is no where near the executive responsibilities of being President.
Well, it at least shows you've had some experience in dealing with the variety of issues that comes with being upper management in an organization like that. CEO's are similar.

The point is Obama had zero leadership experience before being elected. Whether or not he would be better had he more experience is open for debate, but you'd have a hard time arguing that a person with less leadership experience is some how better prepared to take on the presidency.
