Turns out Herman Cain may have been a bad boy.....

Well, it at least shows you've had some experience in dealing with the variety of issues that comes with being upper management in an organization like that. CEO's are similar.

The point is Obama had zero leadership experience before being elected. Whether or not he would be better had he more experience is open for debate, but you'd have a hard time arguing that a person with less leadership experience is some how better prepared to take on the presidency.

He had the same amount of executive experience as McCain did, didn't he?

There's inexperience and there's inexperience. I agree with you; no one can really know what it is like to be President. But if you compare Obama's experience with that of Romney and Perry, well there is no comparison. There may be nothing in business like running Apple, but if your choice is me or a guy who has run a smallish corporation, pick the second guy.
Are you talking about then (2008) or now?

Here's my thought: why now and what's the response?

Why now? Who has the most to gain from it? The timing seems too good to be true.

What's his response? If the Cain campaign is smart, they should have known about this and have a well crafted response. I'm going to watch how this plays out and see if he can weather the storm. That which does not kill me makes me stronger.

Outside of an incumbent, who really has experience being President?
well, the VP for starters.
I would also say that Hillary had more experience than Obama when they both ran. Just because of her personality, I feel pretty sure that Hillary took part in a bunch of policy discussions when her husband was in office. This is probably more true for domestic policy discussion than foreign policy ones, but I bet she gave her input to Bill on both issues, and got feedback from Bill on both.

Some would argue that it was this inexperience that caused many of his problems in the first term but that he has learned from his mistakes.
The story is true that he was accused. Right now from all that is out it is a she said/he said. There are reports of 5 figure settlements but it is not known whether it's because there was substance to the claims or it was simply better to pay and move on.
