Before the game, I thought I could pull for LSU in whoever they play in a bowl game. Not after the thug matthieux forearms Dre and gets away with it.
I KNEW they would play dirty and they did.

Offenses vs Defenses was a wash.

Special teams were the difference in this game.

OT was just bad all around.

Something to think about:

Foster, 1/4
Shelley, 1/2

Alleman, 3/3

Ford, 11 carries, 72 yds, 6.5 average

LSU had 41 rushing attempts; Alabama had 31

Honey Badger is a thug and he'll end his career on his back like he left Kirkpatrick. He doesn't have the size to be playing at this level and his mouth is going to get him his due.

It stings, and there were problems tonight, no doubt. I'd go so far as to say there were coaching issues, but damn almighty - that's a fine team we lost to. I can't feel a lot of shame in that, even if we did make some mistakes.

I hate it when people blame the refs for loosing, but I am with you this time. He was down, and then the ball was stripped. That was BS
If he had not bobbled it we would have retained possession. It was a good call in my opinion. Our staff made mistake after mistake tonight. That over time possession looked like my 8year old son was calling the plays.

The coaches really showed that they had no confidence in AJ or our offense late in the game. We could have had 1:30 to drive down the field, but instead we choose not to call a timeout and just run out the clock. :conf2:
Coached not to lose instead of to win. Can't believe that sequence, and I think we still had two timeouts.

This! +100000000000000000
We had this game but penalties killed us...we had the ball in scoring range at least 5 times...not a coaching problem. Were there questionable plays at times? Yes but time and time again, we didn't execute when the play was there. We beat ourselves. I'd hoped we could overcome the special teams advantage LSU had but we just don't have enough on special teams and it killed us...

Congrats to LSU on a hard fought win...
Mistakes and missed opportunities. We left points on the field and Miles and LSU played a great game.

Maybe it's just post-game blues and I hope noone gets too upset at this... but welcome back to the Shula years... outcoached by a large margin tonight. We kept it close in spite of our coaching staff.
Two weeks to prepare and this is the best they could prepare? Man. Sorry, but I don't wear Crimson glasses. I have been watching this program for over 48 years. So, I will say what I might. This coaching staff lost its luster to me last year when they blew the 24-0 lead to Auburn. Nick lost his luster to me then. This adds to that loss. Not impressed. Not impressed at all. Oh well, at least they did not score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to take a 48-24 lead and then promptly give up 4 straight TDs to lose 52-48 like Jacksonville State did.

Bad execution, turnovers, mental errors, bad coaching decisions, horrible special teams play and we lost in overtime. Take away any one of those ingredients and we likely win.
Yep, this one hurts. I really hate this one for the seniors.

Re: ****Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. LSU****

I have two questions, but before I ask them let me say that I love CNS and hope he stays at Bama until the day he dies...

1. When was the last time we beat a team with equal or better talent? It seems if we can't line up and brutalize teams with hat-on-a-hat direct runs with better players, we are in trouble. And it doesn't take a genius to pound teams with superior talent.

2. How come we can't get a difference maker at QB? For all of Saban's recruiting prowess, we have never had a top-notch guy at the most critical position on the field.

I agree that it was a terrible call on the INT, but we had plenty of other opportunities to win in this game.
