Yes thats what everyone needs to remember, we can be two in both human polls and still 3rd in the BCS. It all matters how many 2nd place votes ST gets.

Re: BCS Computer Rankings (as they are released)

We're 11-1 and have had a great year against a crappy conference - admit it. If it bites us in the rear end because our schedule wasn't very impressive, there''s nothing we could have done about that except beat LSU when we had the chance. I'm not going to stress over who votes for whom all day. I know one thing - at the end of the day we're either going to the BCSNCG, or to the Sugar Bowl to face a good team. Either way, i'm excited that i'm going to get to see another Alabama game this season. All this Mythical National Championship mess is like a Miss America contest - merely politics and posturing. I'm still not sure how good LSU is. Their offense at times is horrible. Georgia could have had them down 24-0 early in the 2nd quarter yesterday. When we decide to go to a playoff system, and git rid of all these mundane bowls where 6-6 teams get "rewarded" for their wonderful season, i'll then pay attention to all this BCS nonsense.

I am not at all impressed with the Big 12 or Ok State's schedule.

Jerry Palm, one of the people who crunches the numbers and does projections, just tweeted this is bad news for Oklahoma State. His total number of votes we'd get from the coaches is a little higher than what we got, though. This is going to be incredibly close.

Re: BCS Computer Rankings (as they are released)

If we got 1399 points that means (assuming no one voted OSU 4th) we would have 42 2nd place votes and 17 3rd place votes. So in this poll OSU only got 29% of the 2nd place votes. Good news for us as long as we are 2nd in the Wolfe Poll.

On second calculations - OSU got some 4th place votes, which is bad news for them as if they got the opposite 17 2nd place votes and 42 4rd place votes they would have 1374 points and they actually have 1367 so they got 4 4th place votes).

The margin just seems very close to me. I sort of expected the lead to be a bit bigger.

Jerry Palm now says based on current numbers and projections, OK State must only pass Alabama by 5 points in the Harris Poll.

Edited: That would mean Ok State would be #2 by 5 points over Alabama. That seems like a very steep climb.

Essentially with this news, OSU would need to be in 2nd place in the Harris poll to have have a chance. (Assuming the Wolfe rankings are right.)

With the coaches having us at #2, and both Sagarin and Wolfe having us at #2....Ok St would have to jumps us in the Harris poll and sweep rest of the computers to jump us I believe...

Exactly. Based on how the coaches and AP have voted, it doesn't seem enough will flip Oklahoma State in the Harris to jump us.

Re: BCS Computer Rankings (as they are released)

Every time some OSU clown starts putting up the list of ranked teams each team had defeated, they list Texas at #22 and Texas may have been ranked at one time but isn't in the top 50 now. They then proceed to leave out Florida from our list, when UF was ranked #12 when we played them. I absolutely detest their cherry picking of the facts. It makes my blood boil. I guess they, like most politicians, think we're that dumb. I think it's time to set the records straight. Anybody got a list of teams that were ranked when we played them. I'd like to expose this lie of theirs.
Yeah, I had a OSU clown tell me they beat a #8 team (6-6 Texas A&M) and we haven't beaten any top 10 teams. Currently Arkansas is top ten and A&M isn't even ranked.

Re: BCS Computer Rankings (as they are released) - check your DATES!

When will the Harris Poll be released? Please do not tell me tonight on ESPN, I don't think I can take it.
