Re: BCS Computer Rankings (as they are released) - when adding , check your DATES!
It's complicated, but that's the gist of it. Bottom line, no matter what happens in the computer rankings, if Bama wins Harris by at least 53 (which IMO is likely), we're in.
Earlier this morning Andy Staples tweeted that he'd received an email indicating that the Peter Wolfe computer ranking had Bama 2, OSU 3. This is significant because the BCS formula drops the highest and lowest rankings from the 6 computer polls and averages the remaining 4 to calculate the computer component of the formula, and Sagarin is already confirmed to also have Bama 2, OSU 3. If the Staples tweet about Wolfe is accurate, the Sagarin ranking will count, and OSU has a much steeper hill to climb in toppling Bama from BCS #2. If the Wolfe info from Staples is not accurate and Bama can't get another #2 ranking from the remaining 4 computer polls, the #2 ranking from Sagarin will be discarded, and OSU has a much easier path to #2.What is the deal with Wolfe that keeps getting referenced?
