they'll be fine. according to the writers at the ajc, richt pulled in what may be the best class in the history of recruiting this year.

Shame on them. Theft is wrong, but stealing from a teammate is akin to stealing from family - it's downright loathsome.

My initial thought was "I can't believe he kicked them off the team." Then I found out they were freshman. Richt is more apt to boot underclassmen than upperclassmen.

Remember there was a recruit on an official visit to UGA last year that stole an iPod out of a guy's locker.

If this was at Alabama it would be slanted as if Saban was getting rid of players to offer more scholarships.

Interesting that this wasn't handled until after signing day. I'll bet the house that Georgia kept this all under wraps until after NSD...

Does anyone know when this happened and when M.R. became aware?

Why would that matter? They didn't oversign or anything.

Believe it or not some parents do not want to turn their sons over to a coach that has so many players getting in trouble. That being true, a story like that breaking so close to signing day could cost you a top recruit.

I know that if my son were down to two choices and one of them had something like that come out so close to signing day I would certainly do my best to persuade him not to go there, especially if it was an ongoing problem like it has been at Georgia.

UGA has been using the talking point that UA and playing under Saban is not "safe".

Jordan Jenkins & his dad used these words and the AJC has been pushing the "safety" doubts (whatever that means) big time.

For example, they used the headline "Justin Taylor: Safely signed with Kentucky, speaks candidly on Alabama" just a couple of days ago.

UGA has been pushing hard that people can trust their kids with Mark Richt & UGA - this story is just the lastest piece of evidence that disputes that.

If parents still think Mark Richt is a safe coach, they are kidding themselves, and I would like to sale my ocean front property in North Dakota to sale them. Richt has players arrested every season; this isn't anything new. Isaiah Crowell got the starting RB job last year because the other RBs were arrested or kicked off the team for various reasons.

This is normal behavior at UGA.

Nick Marshall, though, was a burgeoning star at a need position. Interesting that one of the prevailing opinions on the AJC board is that CNS has bought off the Tuscaloosa police. God those people hate us. Can you imagine what it would be like if Georgia was an annual opponent? I swear that some of them live in the police jurisdiction of ITAT.
