Bama / Penn State in 1985 or 1986 at Bryant/Denny. They beat us bad like 24-3 and we were never in the game. I believe they went on to win the NC.
It was 1986, Penn State won the national title, and a certain future jailbird was the defensive coordinator.

Music City 1997? - Va Tech sleeted/freezing rain stayed the whole game though, I will not leave a game early

La Tech 1999
Oh lawd...I forgot about that steaming pile of a game. I wonder why? And you had to go and remind me. ;)

Because I've always been moving, Bama games are a tough ticket for me. But by far the worst experience
was the 1998 MSU game at Scott Field. How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways.

1) 1130 kickoff, JP telecast

2) Raining

3) If Arkansas lost we had a shot at the West title (lo and behold this is the same day Clint Stoerner laid the
ball down and Tennessee's miracle continued).

4) State ran the opening kickoff back well into our territory and then JJ Johnson ran it down to about the five.
They punched it in and another and even though the final was 26-14, it never felt that close even when we
closed it down to 20-14.

5) This was the week after the LSU miracle, so hopes were high.

6) Those (expletive) cowbells

7) Riding home in the rain afterwards

The next year, I got tickets to a Braves-Expos game. We were coming back through Tuscaloosa and my wife was
open to us stopping at the Tide game in T-Town. We opted not to do so.

That was the La Tech loss, Stallworth to Cangelosi. Glad I didn't go.

1984 Tenn in Knoxville (up by 14 with just over 5 minutes to play)
1995 Auburn in Aub (we make the catch for the touchdown and the ref calls him out)

2010 Barn game. Still makes me want to puke. When Ingram's fumble rolled twenty yards in a straight line, I knew we were in trouble.
Still up 24-0 at that point. Not until the fluky deep touchdown pass that Mark Barron would have intercepted if he was not hurt did I think we were in trouble.

Worst game: I forget the year, but Bama losing to Allbarn 9-0. In the rain. Absolutely terrible.

Best game: Bama killing Clemson in the Georgia Dome. I think that was 2008 chickfila kickoff game. I attended with a some clemson grads. They were cool about everything after the game was over. It was also the first Bama game that I attended with my wife. Absolutely awesome.

I'm sure it has been mentioned but the 2000 Iron Bowl (Barn won 9-0). Cold and rainy. Nothing like getting dominated in your home stadium by your rival, not score a point or even threaten and get pneumonia all at the same time. Only good thing that came from it it was Dumbose's last game.

1995 Tennessee @ Legion Field.

1) First play from scrimmage = Manning TD
2) Tennessee won 41-14 and it wasn't that close.
3) First game in a UT winning streak that would last 7 years.
4) Took a girl I liked to the game, and was grumpy the whole time.

I've been to 206 Bama football games; we've lost 56 of those. Every one of them was as bad as the other.

IIRC correctly, Bryant/Denny did not have lights yet and was still the 60,000 seat single level bowl and they brought in temporary lights since it was a national TV game. Is this right?
It was nationally televised on ABC. However, I never watched our games because the Tide's record during the 1980s in games I watched was 6-21. I always listened on radio. So I can't help you there. Incidentally, that was the day of my 17th birthday
party (game was 10/25, birthday 10/28).

Another FYI - that game was the same day as Bill Buckner's error in the World Series that gave the Mets game six.

I have only seen this team lose twice in person. 2002 Auburn game that Franchione tanked because he knew he was leaving and the 2003 UGA game in Athens because we weren't very good and Mike Shula was in over his head. The worst ever - 1973 Sugar Bowl. Fans of a certain age will never forget it. Ever.

2003 UGA, well they were pretty good and we weren't.

And Croyle was hurt, too.
