By the time the game came on tv up here, Bama was already losing. It was one of those games that ran into another one's timeslot.when Bama played Southern Miss in 2000 at Legion Field under Dumbose. So disfunctional that the team couldn't even get lined up for a kickoff.
I was not at this game but I agree if I had this would have to be the worst. Getting beat by 21 and shutout at home by S. Miss. Ouch! The 21-0 loss against USM in 2000 was the worst game I've been to. It would also be the worst Alabama game I've seen period. I have a hard time believing that anyone who went to this game would pick anything else.
The loss to ULM was embarassing, but IMO the game itself was not as boring or as poorly played as the game against USM at Legion Field. I kept thinking we might win the game against ULM. That thought never crossed my mind against Southern Miss.
The loss to UCF, while embarassing, was not a boring football game.
A game that was incredibly bad for one half was the game against FSU in Jacksonville. There was never a point in the first half where I thought that one of the teams might score some points and that was not because of dominating defenses.
I totally agree. I haven't seen a lot of losses in person, but the feeling of sickness at the absolute ineptitude of our offense I'll never forget. The 21-0 loss against USM in 2000 was the worst game I've been to. It would also be the worst Alabama game I've seen period. I have a hard time believing that anyone who went to this game would pick anything else.
I can still see players running on the field not sure where they were suppose to be and turning around and running off. The coaches yelling at each other and yelling at the players. I am not sure about this but I don't think we got closer than the USM 30 yd line all night. It was the most embarrassing performance I have ever seen out of an Alabama team, no one knew what to do and apparently no one cared. That was my last game to see at Legion Field and it was the worst. The Dubose experiment hit rock bottom that night.when Bama played Southern Miss in 2000 at Legion Field under Dumbose. So disfunctional that the team couldn't even get lined up for a kickoff.
I think Zow got us close toward the end of the game. Inside the 20 maybe. I remember getting excited thinking we might not get shutout until he threw an interception in the endzone. Of course, I was listening to it on the radio by then, it being the only Bama game that I've ever left early...win or loss.. I am not sure about this but I don't think we got closer than the USM 30 yd line all night.
He had to mean 1987, when we introduced the nation to a certain little guy named Emmitt Smith. We won that one 21-7 in Gainesville.
It was even worse because it felt like about 121-0.I was not at this game but I agree if I had this would have to be the worst. Getting beat by 21 and shutout at home by S. Miss. Ouch!
I'm going to get in trouble for this, but I have a confession to make: that day was my2000 UCF - Horrible game, horrible season.
And ironically, I saw y'all at that Northern Illinois game. As bad as that was, mine has to be 1990 versus Penn State. 9-0. Defensively, we were pretty good, but offensively we just seemed helpless. And, it was hot as hell.Worst: BAMA-No. Ill in 2003. First and last BAMA game my 'Aggie wife' attended/will attend. We drove her SUV with her aTm crap on it praying it wouldn't get destroyed parked behind the strip. The game was horrible and her comment after the game was worse "I thought you told me I was gonna see how real football is played".... Guy behind us remarked "Only any idiot would call Shula ball real football." Then my wife had the audacity to comment BDS was nothing compared to Kyle Field. Hmmm... Almost as smart as her comment in monument park of Old Yankee Stadium "This place is a $%#! dump"....
Biggest regret: Passing up a ticket to this years National Title Game. A certain member on here thanked me for that one....
