Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (will miss first half vs Rice)

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to start against Rice)

Johnny [crude juvenile word omitted] How old are you? Keep it classy!

Just so you know, things like this normally get nipped by the moderators, and quoting it makes more work for them.
(I've been guilty of this before too)

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to start against Rice)

It would have been better if the NCAA had just refused to investigate. When you don't believe the NCAA can be any more stupid, they "out stupid" themselves. Unbelievable.

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to start against Rice)

.5 games. Hahaha
Think about it. Alabama has players suspended for how many games (I know it's why they lost a couple of them), and had to forfeit how many games over textbooks? Johnny sells his autographs, a lot of autographs for a lot of money and... how does it end up? Some weird sweetheart NCAA deal that gives him immunity, and a half game suspension?

Well, autograph dealers are going to be more aggressive. "What's the worst that can happen, you get caught and face a half game suspension?".

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to miss 1st half of Rice Game)

They could have accomplished the same punishment by sending him to bed without his milk, cookies and fuzzy wuzzy.

I'm delighted Bama will get the chance to play against him, beat his tail seven ways from Sunday until he quits. Oh yeah, that'll be justice Bama style.

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to start against Rice)

This thing could get real ugly if any of the Autograph Brokers breaks ranks so TAMU better hope that no one gets divorced or has IRS problems in the next couple of years.

I wonder if that Chancellor will explain why he's being benched at all if he did nothing wrong.

Re: Manziel Expected "To be the starting quarterback against Rice"

I think TAMU would probably get something similar to Oregon except in the case where Manziel leads them to a conference and/or national title.
They'll strip those titles so quick that you'd think they work at Sammy's

Sammy's used to be a rite of passage...
( In the 80s I arrested one of their 'Dancer's' on a Extortion charge, she was also peripheral to a Homicide investigation that one of my guys worked. It was always a class place... Low Class.)

From what I'm hearing, the book is closed. They make it sound like there's no chance of returning to the issue, which is weird for the NCAA but almost like he's already convicted so he can't be tried again for the same crime. It's just mind boggling...

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to start against Rice)

@McMurphyESPN

To clarify: Manziel suspension for violating "spirit" of NCAA bylaw 12.5.2.1 & 12.5.2.2. NCAA couldn't prove he broke any rules source said

UH?!

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to start against Rice)

Our guys a few years ago sell some textbooks and they get a 5-game suspension, plus we vacate multiple games. Johnny Manziel takes no telling how much cash for his autograph sessions and gets suspended a half for a high school opponent.

Seems legit.

For the record, I didn't want him suspended against Bama. I want to see us stomp a mud hole through aTm at full speed. Still, pretty poor precedent and this jackwagon still has not ever had one person hold him accountable for his actions, not even his sorry parents.

In other news: Auburn football practice was delayed nearly 2 hours after a player reported finding a white powdery substance on the practice field. Head Coach Malzahn immediately suspended practice and called the police and federal investigators. After a complete analysis,FBI forensics experts determined that the white substance unknown to players was the GOAL LINE. Practice resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter this substance again this season.;) I'm tired of all this JFF mess... he broke the rules and gets a half game... now Bama can lay down the punishment on him and make him wish he would've been suspended for our game! Lets get this season started already! RTR... just figured i'd post that barn joke to make some smile and to get ready for another season of ALABAMA FOOTBALL!

Slap on the wrist? Heck, this wasn't even a flick on the pinky.
The NCAA is such a joke.

Our guys didn't "sell" any textbooks. There was a flaw in the system which allowed them extra textbooks which they loaned to friends. Yeah, that was a competitive disadvantage.

In a very odd way, it helps A&M. A&M gets to give the reigns of the offense to a backup (true freshman Kenny Hill) to start and get some reps in.

@darrenrovell: NCAA, in statement, doesn't close door on Manziel "if additional information comes to light."
