Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (will miss first half vs Rice)

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to start against Rice)

Mighty, what about the honor code? Why aren't "True Aggies", not the sidewalk fan, demanding he be booted for violation of the honor code? Aggies don't LIE, cheat or steal.... I think we can all agree he lied, and cheated by taking the money. My wife tells me the honor code means something but, apparently not to Sumlin, Hyman, JFF, or Sharp... Thoughts???

Unfortunately, everyone has bad apples in the bunch. Some have more, some have less and that's just the way it is.

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to start against Rice)

A lot of us said years ago, the Cam thing ain't about Cam it's about college football. Now the Aggies join the proud group at API, yes so from now on I will refer to them as TPI!

Its good for you now TPI, but you just took College football down another notch & opened a new door for cheaters, thank you. Forget the NCAA, TPI SHOULD have done the Right thing, SHAME ON YOU TPI!

Now see your justice on 9/14!

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to start against Rice)

I know he did it. You guys know he did it. But seriously and honestly. If there's no proof then he shouldn't have been suspended at all.
I'm sure we have several attorney's in this forum who'll verify--If you don't have verifiable proof then you pretty much don't have a case.
This is both logical and true, but (as you well know) it has nothing to do with the way that the NCAA has historically decided these cases.

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to start against Rice)

I went to A&M and believe he got paid, I also think that the 1/2 game suspension is a joke along with the NCAA. Not trying to defend A&M at all, but it looks like we're just going along with their recommendation of suspension. Having said that, I'd of been fine if he got suspended for the rest of his amateur career.

Reasonable level headed post. I wish more Aggies were like you.

Re: Johnny Manziel investigated by NCAA (expected to start against Rice)

I'm surprised they didn't suspend him for just one series. I guess I'm surprised he got any punishment since he and ATM lawyered up to the hilt!

4,400 autographs out of the goodness of his heart?!???; I guess he's an awesome guy! I just don't think a college kid at any NCAA institution would do that.

Did the NCAA lay down any punishment to Bama for Johnny Football's transgressions? Are we going to be able to play in a bowl this year?

This case tells other schools what to do when when the NAZI's come calling. The NCAA is just a big JOKE!

It's time for the NCAA to become invisible, I mean go away. It is archaic. In the future archaeologists need to have digs to determine if those in the NCAA had a spine.
The NCAA should be apologizing to Bama, Ohio State, USCw, et al.

The NCAA is consistent in being inconsistent in the enforcement of it's archaic rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Auburn has a creed.

The NCAA continues to be a joke. If they couldn't expose the money trail with Cam, they certainly couldn't with JM. A half game is ridiculous. It should've been nothing (since they couldn't prove he took money) or the whole enchilada (if they could prove it). They are the most worthless organization in sports.

ESPN reporters don't like to be called liars or made fools of. This may not be over until Johnny is long gone - but I think this is far from over for aTm. There were apparently plenty of witnesses to a few of these signings and ESPN is not above paying some of them to talk. Nothing may ever come of it from a punishment perspective but I suspect ESPN may decide to make aTm look as bad as they possibly can on this deal.

If ESPN is willing to shell out some money, we may be able to find out the complete truth. Pay the brokers for hard evidence.

What makes you think they still have it ? What if the bravado expressed by the AD was because he already had the deep pockets pay a visit to the autograph brokers and trade a small fortune for the video?

With all of that said, I'm glad he will be playing against Alabama. There will be no excuses on either side.

We either win against their best or we lose against their best. Hopefully, it will be the former instead of the latter.

You could be right. However, I'm sure a lot of Aggies are partying like it's New Years.
