Alternate Alabama uniforms

The uniform in the original post is uglier than all of Oregon's crazy uniforms combined. And Maryland. Uglier than Boise's blue field and E. Washington's red one. STOP. Just STOP! Makes the lambs stop screaming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have always had alternate uniforms. Didn't you know? We have our standard Uniform for home games, and our lucky 'White' Uniforms for away games. RTR

I said it wasn't as big of a deal in recruiting, hence doesn't help. The same thing you said. But if it did, Saban would do it. Recruiting is the life line of your program. The fan base would have to get their panties out of a wad.

I would almost bet you were born after Coach Bryant died. This fan base is the reason that CNS can recruit the way he does. The tail does not wag this dog it may in other programs, but trust me CPB knew the fanbase was the lifeblood of the team. Not trying to be ugly here but IMHO you underestimate the power of the Alabama football fans.

I do think the white helmets could be seen one day. They are a part of history, so I wouldn't mind seeing them every once in a while. The rest of this stuff is garbage.

I think the white helmet for an anniversary would be fine.

i wouldn't mind seeing what our throwbacks would look like. Something like what Iowa State did this year:

I would like a throwback uniform that meshed us through the years for rare occasions. This looks similar to what it would look like imo.

Coach Saban dislikes clutter. Coach Saban considers the fan-base critical to the overall process. Changing uniforms would create clutter within his process.

The entire idea is absurd for our school, it's Zero Sum, with a waste of energy to boot. Maybe try Vandy?

Just saying that is a unrealistic scenario with a little insight and listed reasons. We have both made our points clear so let the jury decide

Wanted to add that I know your angle and agree that Coach Saban is ruthless in recruiting and looks for new avenues like no one else, but this particular action would not be taken for previously stated reason. Just expounding on your comment.

No, this is ridiculous. And ugly.

As someone else said, slow changes over decades is fine. Radical change for the sake of change is contrary to the whole spirit of our program.

I like the uniforms as they are.That crimson jersey stands for alot. The white helmets years back were not such a great idea IMO either.

The black jersey isn't bad, except it isn't our colors, so I hope never to see it in a game. Is that picture from an A Day game or practice where they don't want the QB to get hit?

I wouldn't mind seeing one of the 1920s era uniforms for a throwback game, some of them are kind of cool looking. But I'd only want it for a FCS type game, it might get fans more into it if there was something special going on and using odd uniforms against an Ole Miss might rile them up if they thought we were disrespecting them by using the throwbacks in their game, no need to give a team in our league another reason to hate us.
