If you turn the TP logo sideways with the red stripes pointing down, it looks like it spells itch.

not accusing you of a thing, but the 2016 GOP platform clearly shows their hateful opinion on gays (and isn't so great for Women and minorities either)That's fine, and it's your right to feel any way you like, and for whatever reasons you feel appropriate.
Please though, don't falsely accuse others of those same feelings and then let that accusation alone become a justification for your own.
The Republican Party, paying short shrift to many of the most pressing problems facing our country, is establishing a platform that is a hodgepodge of faith-based, scientifically unfounded, holier-than-thou nonsense.
Note: This is not criticism coming from a Democrat. I'm sympathetic to many typical Republican stances — smaller government, lower taxes, economic freedom. I've supported GOP candidates. I know Democrats have their issues.
Republicans, though, are driving me away on social issues. It almost feels as if they're proud to limit their appeal, to alienate as many voters as possible — at least that's the message I take from their new platform.
Rachel Hoff, the first openly gay Republican on the party's platform committee, emphasized on Monday, "Freedom means freedom for everyone, including gays and lesbians." She added, "All I ask today is you include me and those like me." They declined. Hoff said, "The committee members refused to even stand with the basic human rights of LGBT individuals." That rejection left her wondering: "When they refused to even do that, I thought, what do we even stand for? Why am I even here?"
Gregory T. Angelo is the president of the Log Cabin Republicans, which describes itself as "the nation's largest Republican organization dedicated to representing LGBT conservatives and allies." In a news release, Angelo denounced "the most anti-LGBT Platform in the Party's 162-year history." He added, "Opposition to marriage equality, nonsense about bathrooms, an endorsement of the debunked psychological practice of "pray the gay away" — it's all in there."
why are you making this about gays, those platforms exist only to protect religious freedom for real americansnot accusing you of a thing, but the 2016 GOP platform clearly shows their hateful opinion on gays (and isn't so great for Women and minorities either)

Thank youMarry whoever you want. A dog, your car, a tree, whatever. But how does someone's belief that marriage is between a man and a woman qualify as "hateful language"?
As best as I can tell, there's only one hateful person on this board. The venom he spews is breathtaking.I don't know anyone within the actual GOP, so I have no opinion on whether ''the party'' has any feeling towards gays.
I do however know a lot of Republican voters, and I've not heard not a single one of them ever express such feelings toward gays in general or any particular person or group of persons within the gay community.
That said, I can only assume that the reverse must be true. It is you who hates the GOP, and only you know the true reason.
you just have to stir a stick around in there to make sure there are no beesThinking bout marrying a tree?
Many folks I know, and I include myself among them, don't really care what others do in their private lives. It is when those individuals make their private lives public and demand for it's public acceptance that we take issue with it.i have to say it is somewhat heartening that so many folks don't take issue with gay people getting married anymore.
i consider that progress.

Kind of like how I don't care what somebody's religious beliefs are.
