“But this is a different Alabama team than in past years. They don’t have the alpha guy inside on the front. It’s just a different team for them. They don’t have the same threats that they had at rush end in past years. Now he has to be a little more exotic on third down. That means the focus for Clemson should be to get three or four yards each down up the middle. Running sideways on them is hard because their defense still runs really well. But this is a different Alabama team up front, you can hit them in the mouth and get three or four yards between the tackles.

The other thing that jumped out at me was the negative review of our offensive line. That's a concern against such a good DL as Clemson.

I wonder why we don't give the ball to Bo more too... and to Damien more for that matter... I also wonder why we don't run more slants.

Bo seems to do his best in the 4th quarter but he hasn't looked the same this year , I agree with though about Damian , I also think Jacobs is one of our top two backs

I really don't think they watched the games this season. They probably watched 1 or 2 games and then declared that they aren't good.
Agreed - looks like they watched a few games toward the end of the season because their analysis is just wrong. I agree that Alabama is going to beat Clemson, but not because you lost to them last year. You are going to beat Clemson because you are hungrier.

He says Alabama is complaining about injuries, but I don't remember us ever having so many injuries in one area. He said in the past someone was always able to step into the role of the injured player but when the reserves get hurt as well it's tough.

When we lost SDH it was a game changer. It wasn’t something we could recover from right away. Having time to get some guys back with reps will make us able to cut down on giving up those 5 to 7 yard runs. We will be a much improved D when we play again.

But the items mentioned in that article do mirror my concerns with this game. If the oline mans up and we can run the ball effectively then we win similar to the lsu game. My concern though us our run game does seem to struggle against good dlines. I do think the line has the potential to come up big, but I am certainly taking a wait and see approach. And the dline has gotten pushed back more than the last couple of years and are not as strong at the point of attack, but that was somewhat expected for me. I figured the linebackers would be able to compensate for the dline, but they got hammered by injuries like something i've never seen. That said, this unit is still dangerous and can pull it together to really shut folks down. Our D has the potential to be the strongest unit left in the playoffs if we get back to form.

Wrong - your run game has not struggled once this year. Look at the stats.

ETA - sorry, that's not true. You struggled to run against LSU - but they put 8 men in the box to do it and paid the price in the passing game. No team has stopped your run game with a normal defensive alignment, and Clemson does not stack the box like LSU did. If they do, Jalen will beat them the same way he beat LSU because LSU has better players in their secondary.

I feel like the coach on Bama just took some of my more biting comments but left out nuance and incorrectly stated players at certain positions.

Anyone paying attention leading up to the LSU game knew that the DL had been a weakness this year. LB injuries made it stick out more...the ILB rotation was covering up a lot. The edge guy problem is pretty obvious...we lost our two best rushers from camp in the first game. The "take away Ridley and make Hurts throw it" defense is not groundbreaking strategy.

I would be willing to bet an actual coach did not say any of that.
Agreed and unfortunately is our current media world. Unnamed sources is a farce. Our defense is much better than they are getting credit for. I think once we see our 1/1/18 defense we will tell people they were wrong.
