Where do we stand? 2/5

Looked that way with the Copeland kid. Everything I read said it was Alabama until he changed his mind at the table. Maybe some of these guys told Saban they were onboard this morning then had a change of heart at the last minute. Pure speculation but like I said it seemed that way with Copeland considering how his family reacted..

I get changing you mind at the table. Alabama has been on the other side of a few of those, including a pretty good OT who changed his mind after he left the table. Suggesting that they lied is an altogether different matter.

All I know is that yesterday afternoon we were 'coming on in a big way'. As of now we have run off the rails and if Waddle goes to aTm or wherever this day will go down as a disaster even WITH Surtain.

Of course that's an over-statement. A kid picking another place to go to school is not a disaster, but it sure isn't what we are used to.

I think we may be seeing today why there are a lot of new faces on this coaching staff. Am I correct in saying that we still have 5 available scholarships?

Beat me to it. That`s what it looks like. We`ve only got 3 today. I think that the private coach`s meeting that no doubt will occur this evening will be something to behold.

Is there is a credible source saying that some of these kids lied to Saban this morning? That seems sketchy. Why even talk to Saban today if you are going somewhere else other than to tell him the truth?

The quotation does not say lied. It says informed. You may be reading too much into it.

Teenagers have been known to lie B1G.

BIG1... Teenagers will lie without thinking about consequence. Copeland and what he did... If it's true, then that's huge embarrassment for his family...

All I know is that Coach loves to get under the hood and fix things. Complacency will not be a problem for us on or off the field this season.

He's already fixed the recruiting problem (relative problem but he's serious about it) and that's why most of the staff turned over this off-season.

I agree but when coach A tells you that coach B who is no longer with us was not interested in you but I am, then coach B calls from new school with interest how does said recruit process this information.

Well, if they told Saban they were good to go then changed their mind at the table I guess that's technically a lie but I don't look at it as malicious in this situation. If somebody intentionally misled the staff then that's one thing but I'm not sure that's what happened here..
