Well, if they told Saban they were good to go then changed their mind at the table I guess that's technically a lie but I don't look at it as malicious in this situation. If somebody intentionally misled the staff then that's one thing but I'm not sure that's what happened here..

Yeah, this is how it likely played out. It doesn't look good, but I doubt that there was an intent to deceive. Just young men under pressure.

It is a double edged sword with the way we are recruiting nationally. Do you slow play a 3* #11 player in the state of Alabama to pursue the 5* #25 national player? I think yes and if you miss on the national player you have to deal with it.

Are we done with staff changes? There has been some discussion relating to a change in the DL coach. Could the fact that we were only able to sign two DL be related to the current DL coach's recruiting ability? For example, we whiffed on two DL we thought we had in the bag.

Yes it appears that we have three slots open. There hasn't been any communication as to how we might use them. It is possible we will just carry them over to 2019.

IIRC, total number of players is pretty helpful in Rivals' rankings.
