Where do we stand? 2/5

All I will say is it's not the ones you don't get that hurt you it's the ones you do get. For those kids that balked at the alter it was probably the right decision for our program that they did not commit to us.

Do we have any reason to believe that a competing coach my have encouraged these kids to pull this sort of last second change? If so, and the kid follows through, then all I can say is "wow" at the lack of character and integrity all around. This would seem like we have reached a new low in the recruiting game.

I have often wondered if competing coaches would resort to shenanigans they know coach would never employ just to beat him on the recruiting trail - effectively using his unwillingness to go into the gutter against himself?

I really don't think CNS will be angry with staff. Heck, most just got here.

Dunbar probably won't recruit anymore and someone like Champman or Pannunzio will instead.

Tosh wants to change some things in regards to DL recruiting philosophy.

Nope. He counted in last year's class.
Well, that is the thing, if you go back and look he was not included in last year's final class by the recruiting services.

In addition, he was not part of last year's, he is in the 2018 class.

Figuring him in woukd likely put Bama around 4th that is about where we thought the class would end up anyway.Sure we missed on some but this class is solid and filled needs. One more d tackle would be nice but it looks like that problem may be fixed with a grad transfer or two.

How often does espn update their ranking. They still have us with 18 signees and ranked 6th. We now have 20 signees.

Is there a timeline rule on when a JUCO transfer or Graduate transfer has to sign (did it have to be today for the JUCO or can it be anytime over the next few weeks, etc?)? I imagine the 3 open slots will be filled by a JUCO transfer or Grad transfer.

I am fairly happy with the results today.. just wish we could have gotten Justyn Ross and some D Lineman/LB. I know these guys are just kids, but it seems they would keep a commitment and not change at the last minute. Some of the guys Saban really wanted went to Clemson and UGA and Florida. It will be more difficult to recruit against those 3 teams, especially UGA with Kirby. The state of Georgia has great talent and Kirby seems to have locked it up for awhile.

The players we did get today seem like great players and great kids. I wish them success. I am glad we got Waddell since the other WR did not come through.

Kirby will do well, but now he will be competing against Pruitt, Mullen and Dabo as well...............and wont get all of them. Saban will get his share out of Georgia, especially the Western side of the state............lots of love for Bama on that side

This class highlights the importance of relationships and a "closer"
Staff turnover lack of commitment to recruiting by staff hurt us very bad.
Having the best closer in the game overcame that and still landed us close to #5.
We will be favored to repeat and entirely possible 3peat.
This staff he has put together should be back on top next year.
We signed a lot of talent still and I firmly believe Anoma and Surtain will be top ten draft picks. these two stuck out to me before they even signed with us.
I can only imagine the "Dynasty is over" articles that already have or will hit the internet.
