That's a heck of a list to interview and still haven't decided on who he wants....FWIW: Partridge was ranked #1 in 24/7 recruiting ranking. Had 14 commits.Something tells me Partridge would be the obvious choice.

I believe you are getting your Partridges confused. He did not interview Chris Partridge for DL coach, but Charlie Partridge of the Pitt Panthers. Chris is with Michigan and earlier turned CNS down about a position with Bama.

I believe that CNS may be strengthening his staff from where it was this year but the last three years have put stress on the organization to say the least. You likely recall Coach Bryant having similar organizational losses in the late 60's and some recruiting shortfalls that took some time and moving to a new offense to turn around. My concern more than anything I think is having the university put all of that on one individual. There just has to come a point where he tires of the constant grind even though he places so much on himself.

I don't believe the University is putting a lot on CNS. He has more support personnel probably than anyone in football or a comparable private industry job.

Shoot he has so much support staff he dosen't event to to think about when to go to the restroom because he has someone to tell him it is time

I see several NFL guys names on there. I would think CNS wants a college or high school guy with strong recruiting ties based upon the recent past.

Don't you think he could do anything he wants about it ? You are right that he carries a tremendous workload, but he seems to have relatively unlimited resources at his disposal for far less important matters than this. He surely has what he wants for such an important aspect of his program. If there is too much on him, it's almost certain that it's because he wants it.

He had to kick back $240,000 for jumping his contract two years early, so nothing like $200K per game, no matter what moving, etc. costs were paid on the front end. Now, you seem to be unwilling to allow Saban one mistake, period. Hiring assistants is a hit or miss proposition - in every program. I'm sure Daboll said all of the right things about recruiting, etc., only to find out, along with Saban, that he wasn't cut out for it. As I said above, I'll take Saban's body of work. I wouldn't want anyone else selecting assistants, that's for sure...

Thanks. I believe Saban is the GOAT. I completely admire the way he has grown as a coach particularly the environment he has created for the young men who play for him. I just feel it becomes much more difficult with so many of his protegees competing directly against him while he is forced to completely reorganize. A state of constant renewal is incredibly difficult.

Agreed. If what we've heard regarding his desire to play Tua more is accurate, he may well have coached much of the season feeling as if he had one hand tied behind his back...

Agreed. Saban's coaching tree is getting bigger and bigger. We need to enjoy Tosh and Locksley while we have them since history tells us they will be gone to HC jobs in the next 2-3 years. This has become the norm and I'm sure Coach Saban has his replacement plan etched in his head.
