It wouldn't surprise me. Phil probably decided AD just wasn't enough!I wonder what happened. Did Fulmer want that job too, so he got her fired?
Everything is going just as plannedThey really do have a problem.
I was a bit confused at first, then realized that UT's nomenclature for their executive management is backwards from ours. Whereas we have a President for each campus, and a Chancellor who is over the system, they're the opposite. A Chancellor for each campus, and a President for the system.
So system President Di Pietro fired campus Chancellor Davenport.
The trouble is, a quick Google search turned up a recent Knoxville News article saying that Di Pietro is leaving not later than the end of his contract in about a year, and possibly as early as this fall. Which means there's a good possibility that both positions will be vacant at the same time.
Under those circumstances, good luck attracting a quality candidate for either.
Further, the BOT is reducing from nearly 30 members to 13-15. Which could be reducing meddling, or Haslam consolidating power. My money's on the latter.
So Haslam is effectively the dictator. Fulmer is running unchecked. There is no campus executive, and the system exec is a lame duck.
This is a clown car circling a dumpster fire that was started by a train wreck.

She uses to many fancy words for the folks in Knoxville. She should have bought Jeff's book.Davenport will earn $1.7 million for four years of work as a tenured communications professor even though she was dismissed for poor communication skills.
That sounds like they just took the Mike Shula firing letter and put her name on it.
He knew......I wonder if Jeremy Pruitt is wondering what he got himself into.
