I just can't imagine, outside of a season injury to Tua, that we go back to having Jalen QB this team in meaningful game snaps.

I LOL at the comments about Ray Charles being able to see open receivers better than Jalen, but it's unfortunately true. With Jalen, we just leave points off the board on just about every drive he's the qb.

Also, I don't buy the idea CNS is letting Jalen play to force his hand to decide if he wants to redshirt this year by the 5th week. When has CNS allowed a player to dictate his actions?

My theory is CNS told Jalen he would have the opportunity to play early this season to compete for the job. I think CNS was just keeping his word. I think the "experiment" that both players can help us will soon be over. I think by week 3 it'll be Tua until garbage time.

I didn't listen to the press conference but a poster on another board posted this. Is it correct?...

Saban names Tua starter for Saturday. Also comments on Hurts

Just saw (across scrolling marquee) ESPN reporting Saban has named Tua starter for Saturday and plans om using Hurts' "skill set in future games". Interesting wording. I think decision has officially been made.

I intended to put this in existing QB thread. Good lord I didnt realize I started a new thread. I dont use Tapatalk a lot. My apologies. I'll go to my laptop and move it.

I loved the part he made about each player being his children and you don’t criticize one for being better at something than your other child (or something along this lines ;))

I did too and I completely relate to that. I would also get defensive if someone wanted me to put one of my children on a pedestal and then talk down about the other one.

Ok, so we now know what we knew after the championship game last year. I guess we have to find something else to talk about.

It was interesting for him to say he hadn’t thought about the redshirt rule and that he doesn’t know how that would work if you are committed to the team this year. I think Jalen has a lot of decisions to make for himself.

This will naturally come to a head and Jalen is going to be forced to address this with CNS. If he tells coach he doesn't want to play beyond the four game RS rule then my guess is Mac Jones immediately becomes the backup and begins taking all the backup reps.

Now that Tua has taken over the starting position at quarterback I hope Jalen can be used on plays he will be good at. We know he is not a pure passer like Tua...it’s time to use him on running plays that allows him to shine. Heck, I don’t care if he runs the wishbone...just use him in a way the other team has to prepare for his skill set.

I like the fact that CNS is sticking up for Jalen and saying all the right things about Jalen, but I can’t help but think back to the player Mike Gundy was standing up for in his famous rant. The player didn’t see it that way and it ended up being a big mess. I think they have since talked and cleared all that up between the two, but I hope Jalen doesn’t see it that way from CNS. I like Jalen and I’m thankful for all he’s done for Alabama.

Mac Jones has a cannon arm! If he get's some "touch" we are going to terrorize defenses!
