Most upsetting things to me...
1. How undisciplined this team is.
2. Young guys played 12 games, no improvement by the end of the season.
3. Kicking game.
4. Yes, there were injuries, but, refer to #2.
5. Last three big games...lost 44-16...lost 46-41....lost 48-45. Those last two had stretches of the games that looked like a mediocre high school team, silly mistakes costing points.

There really is no Bama factor right now.

Had some family issues today and missed my first Alabama - Auburn game. After reading this thread I guess I picked a good one to miss. Just hope we don't lay down in our bowl game.

So Saban said in presser they ran the punter out on the field as a WR and didn’t give them time to sub D back in and get Waddle out.

The kicking game was okay except at place kicker. TP is a solid punter and the return game is great. But place kicker is so bad.

He still has to win the job. I was just pointing out that he is very talented. If he does win the job, you will be fine (with some help on the other side of the ball).
Mac is talented, and I'm sure he would own those two pick sixes. One he missed badly, the other he had a player in his face quickly and threw it behind Nagee. Auburn got 17 free points, (counting the free FG), which made all the difference in this game. I think next year, like every year, everyone has to earn the starting position.

People always used to say if you break Saban's defense you will break his run. Well there has been an onslaught to do that at all levels from the rulebook on down to lousy high school officiating.

Not pile on, but Waddle had to have spectacular game on special teams to dig us out of the hole we dug for ourselves - the probabilities of special team TDs are really low. So playing the percentages on both sides we played very poorly in pre-snap on offensive and very poor all the way around on defense. Blocking, snap, and hold were good on the last FG this kid and Cody Parkey in the NFL could have a contest for who can hit the most uprights.

I'm not saying it now because there is an older post on here to prove it but instability on defense since has been heading down hill since 2017. We are not as durable nor as deep since we changed body types to play spread. Everyone is recruiting the same kind of player on defense now.

I ask a legitimate question can we not go back to ball control physical running game and play action prostyle and build a defense that will support this strategy? It think we would still out talent most teams and still be in the hunt at the end of the season. If I am coach, I go out playing the way I want to play.

Has to happen to a point. By that I mean there is only one Tua and we are losing a few WRs.

But to keep up with today's game you need a dynamic offense so going backward is not going to help in the long term.

I've been wary of Golding from the start, this is his first time running a Power 5 defense and the results are not impressive. I get the injuries excuse. But from what I understand, he's been basically running the defense for over a season now. So he has such great games as Clemson, LSU and now Auburn on his resume. That isn't great.
The guy has given up 30+ to just about every single SEC opponent we played this season. He’s not cutting it

Saban is now 8-5 against Auburn, Coach Bryant was 19-6. Despite being more successful nationally than CPB, Saban hasn't been able to keep a lid on the Cow College.

It really bothers me that Auburn seems to outplay us with less-talented teams. I mean, at some point that has to come back on CNS right? And, before anybody says it, I love the guy and think he's right there with CPB as best ever, but this has become a narrative nobody can deny.

I doubt that I will sleep much tonight. My wife is home and still pacing. This loss is so much worse than the Clemson game. A game that you should win but give away - makes your mind spin out of control.

You’re likely looking at a Ohio State Clemson final. They’ll match OSU against #4, wouldn’t surprise me if it ended up being Oklahoma. Then Clemson/LSU in the 2/3 game. LSU’s defense will get torched. Ohio State beats Clemson in a classic game.

It was just not our year. A lot of soul searching to do.
Yes, a lot of soul searching to be done. I do hope we show up for the bowl game and don't get a third loss. OSU-Clemson would be fun - "go Buckeyes" - but I just couldn't stomach LSU in there. These people down here are already bad enough now.
