Found some of the pics I took of Kiwi's last visit here. Didn't realize it had been 10 years! Time really does fly!

He had a condition that affected the pigmentation of his skin but never let it slow him down.

He left that little Australian surfing banner with me that you see in the third photo. He'd taken it all over the world with him.

Dementia, probably from all the blows to his head in college and the NFL. He was not great, but a very dependable role player for the Dolphins. RIP
He went through some very bad times.

How Jim Kiick Fell Through the Cracks

One of my favourites from that championship team.

Kiick scored the only rushing touchdown for Miami in Super Bowl VII, the victory that capped the Dolphins’ perfect season.

Michael O'Neill for Sports Illustrated

Wielding a Swiss Army skill set that was easy to praise but harder to value, he combined for 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in each of his first four seasons, and played one Sunday despite a hip pointer, a pulled ankle tendon, a punctured elbow, a crushed big toe and a broken finger. Kiick was so tough and skilled a blocker, in fact, that Dolphins coach Don Shula reversed backfield logic and often sent the 5'11" Kiick to clear a path—like a Jeep before a Sherman tank—for the burlier, 6’4” Csonka.

Godspeed.....

Benny Mardones, 'Into the Night' Singer-Songwriter, Dead at 73

Benny Mardones, rock and soul singer-songwriter behind the '80s smash and radio perennial "Into the Night," died today at his home in Menifee, California. His passing was confirmed to Billboard by longtime friend and record producer Joel Diamond, resulting from complications following a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. He was 73.
