Yeah I have to think this was about playing back in the state of Texas more than not liking his status at Alabama. He is a phenomenal recruiter and will be missed. Good luck though coach Banks!

I’m surprised Saban is allowing this. I thought one of “rules” was not allowing departures to gut his staff.

May be he did some trading. "Look Sark, don't do like Kiffin and Smart did on the way out. Focus on your job, if you do and we win you'll be rewarded"
Or... Sark could be burning bridges, who knows?

Saban was not happy with this move and was supposedly told last night by Banks. Apparently the coaches thought he was staying. I wonder if he wanted to just go back to Texas or if Sark asked him to come with him. He is getting a raise from 750,000 to 1.1 million and being named Assistant to the Head Coach I think. I really wish Sark would not take our coaches... I can understand him taking Flood but not the others.

Jeff Banks is 3rd in the nation in recruiting last year and primarily responsible for Camar Wheaton (who has not yet signed) and Jalen Milroe.

These things do happen. As alluded to, could be, and probably are, back stories in play. Just part of the success. I still never cease to marvel at Clemson, though.

Dang we finally had our kicking game clicking on all cylinders. I hope this does not regress our field goals. Really hate this more than any other. Not to mention he has been killing Texas in recruiting.
