The word in Atlanta on Dukes and Bell was that Sark asked Nick to take some coaches and Nick said OK , let me know who? Sark came back with a list of almost all and Nick wasn’t happy! so Sark shortened the list ! Karl Dukes is a Texas grad with some insiders in the program !
Seriously doubt this story. If Saban said no Sark would tattle to the coach to create poisonous environment. Saban isn’t dumb enough to play this game.

While I am somewhat disappointed in Coach Sarkisian taking any Alabama assistants, it is a sign of the times, we will have to get over it. I am confident CNS has a list to replace anyone he may lose. Coach Sarkisian has an up hill job and he understands he needs people he has worked with, people he can trust, and those he knows their performance. I find it somewhat humorous that the very posters who praised Coach Sarkisian now treat him as a "Benedict Arnold" y'all need to move on, we still have the GOAT and he knows what he is doing.

I don't care what's going on except Sark should be building his own staff and not raiding the staff of his boss who is 10 times the coach he ever was never mind a man who resurrected his career. This is almost WAR. Almost....we'll see

While I hate losing good coaches and the points made about his recruiting against us in the Texas region have merit. But having watched the aftermath of a few national title seasons I find it is actually a good time for any coaches and players who have spent themselves to hit the road. It takes a lot out of a program to win it all and it seems they are not as hungry the following year. I've also noted very few assistants who leave Alabama find the level of success elsewhere. Probably because, lets be honest, the expectations elsewhere just aren't like it is at Bama. How you act when you've "made it" is different from how you act when you were trying to claw yourself to the top, all except for Saban. He's a machine, He attacks every season as if it's his first.

I'm always concerned on how moves like these affect recruiting.

Sark is doing a great job building that staff over at Texas.

There's nothing we as fans can do, but hope coach can fill these spots with better hires.

Hope? I believe the last 14 years have given us a pretty good idea that CNS knows what he’s doing...hope?
Scott Cochran’s departure was the last straw...the DynAsty was over...until it wasn’t...and then it was even better!!!
Hope? Nah...Trust...

Yep.............Saban hasnt gotten where he is by half measures..............we should just sit back and watch to see what happens. It is frustrating to lose good coaches, but he will replace them

There's no panic that I see and we are quite aware how the hiring situation is. The only reason for critique of the current situation is that Saban is reportedly upset about Banks. Therefore, since he does not usually take these things personally but encourages upward movement, a line has likely been crossed. That is one criticism or expression of disappointment. As well some, including me, express regret that Banks is not a good recruiter but a great one who has given Bama great access to the Texas goldmine. That is probably going to be much harder now.

Again - at least for most - no panic, just a little disappointment, a little whining and complaining. At least some of which is justified.

We are not even complaining that some are ostriches, we are/were happy for Sarkisian and understand Flood, just let us comment on the "coaching movement" without having to defend against the straw men (panic) and the indefensible :). Everything is not all or nothing. We know what is going on - I think .
Be interesting to know what the 2 brothers from Texas who just signed at Bama are thinking. They MAY stay..but dont be surprised if they do not. Texas is a strong draw for a native Texan kid.

I dont think they will leave................I've read quite a few articles where they talked about playing for Saban, and their parents spoke about Saban. Dont think you have to worry about them leaving.................cant wait to see them play

Hope they do stay. They remind me a little of the Hannah boys. 3 Hannah brothers played for Bama. All were awesome. Texas is a strong draw as I said. I dont recall who recruited those boys...but I was thinking Jeff Banks. That may not be correct.
