1 loss SEC Champ is a lock…I think we'll be 6th, ahead of TCU. But we'll see.
FWIW, I think if we win out we'll be in.
You’re probably right. The first ranking comes out tomorrow evening. I expect we'll be 7th.
They might as well put UGA and UT 1st and second because who ever wins that game will go to #1.I think we will be 6th. We have a tough strength of schedule, especially away games. I think it will be:
1. UGA
2. Ohio State
3. TN
4. Clemson
Yeah UcheaT has 5 wins against ranked teams (when they beat them) and 2 are still ranked in the Top 15I expect it to be:
1. Tennessee
2. Georgia
3. Ohio State
4. Michigan
5. Clemson
6. Alabama
I think you'll hear during the ranking show....that Tennessee has beaten more ranked teams than the others and have the best win.
If it's a "right now" ranking, I have no problem with UT being #1.Yeah UcheaT has 5 wins against ranked teams (when they beat them) and 2 are still ranked in the Top 15
I think tOSU and Uga are both better and would win Head to Head but the committee might actually rank Tenn #1
Same. Now I need to bathe. If it's a "right now" ranking, I have no problem with UT being #1.
I would have Alabama at 5, ahead of Clemson. But you really can't be higher than that right now.I love how they dropped us all the way down to #6 when UT squeaked out a win over us on a last-second field goal, in their stadium, with their screaming fans, and referees from Chuck E. Cheese.
True...just keep winning and it will all take care of it's self...UM and OSU play...as do UT and UGA this week. I'm still not sold on CU going undefeated...but the ACC is really weak.I would have Alabama at 5, ahead of Clemson. But you really can't be higher than that right now.
True. I guess they couldn't put us ahead of an undefeated. But like @Padreruf says above, two of those will change this weekend.I would have Alabama at 5, ahead of Clemson. But you really can't be higher than that right now.
Which is next-level stupid. You’re probably right.
TCU is undefeated and has 3 wins over Top 25 teams while we have a close loss to #2/3 but 0 wins vs ranked opposition.
The good thing, of course, is if we TCB, then TCU won't matter - nor anyone else.I would have Alabama at 5, ahead of Clemson. But you really can't be higher than that right now.
And I'll add that in TCU's wins over Oklahoma, Kansas, and Kansas State the starting QB for those 3 teams got injured during the game and had to leave, so things possibly could have turned out differently without those injuries.Which is next-level stupid.
The have a double OT win AT HOME over a 6-2 team that just lost by 48 points.
A 10-point win AT HOME over the 6-2 team that clobbered the other by 48 points.
I apologize - who else am I missing they've beaten that is ranked right now?
Alabama has beaten THREE TEAMS that WOULD BE RANKED except - wait for it - we beat them (Texas, Arky, and MSU). TWO of those were on the road. One we were without our QB for most of the game - which I'm told is some sort of acceptable excuse for teams like Texas and aTm when they lose, so why not us, huh?
I have LESS PROBLEM if the argument is "TCU is undefeated and has played eight games."
And the schedule will shake it all out, of course.
But if the CFP committee wants to go with "we focus on the wins more than the losses," it's hard to blast us too much for a three-point road loss to a team that is currently undefeated and might be ranked on top in this poll.
But let's also be clear: they're gonna cause a ruckus so we'll all tune in this weekend.
They always do in these "don't really matter anyway" polls.
They'll lie, folks. They'll lie.
We still control our own Destiny even if Mike Price couldn't.I'd bet my last dollar that as long as we win out - including of course the SECCG against an undefeated UT or UGA - we're in the CFP. But we have a tough road to travel so one game at a time. LSU, you're next.
