Guys...people were saying that we were over and done with before the 2020 season too. Not every season is going to be perfect. I am just as frustrated with the game as anyone else here is. But be realistic. Yes, we need better coordinators, but you can also maybe appreciate that we've also suffered at times from a lack of continuity in our coordinator spots too as they've been recruited to other teams.

The program isn't dead, just like it wasn't dead in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018-19, or 2021. We just need adjustments and, IMHO, some fresh blood in a few positions, including receiver.
I think the difference this time is with Golding it has been an issue for years, and BoB has been at this for two years and made the fanbase want to pull our hair out.

Say what you will about coaches and play calling, but nobody is talking about the real problem. This team is getting WHIPPED, and I mean manhandled at the line of scrimmage. Either all of these 5 star recruits that we hear about are busts, or we aren't doing a good job of developing them. Because they are getting rolled up at the line of scrimmage. We almost couldn't run the ball in from the one yard line.

Real question...has anyone's draft stock ever tanked like 31s? Does he make nay plays anymore?
He played good here and there but when it counted most he wasn't there. I think his draft stocks has definitely fell. But he probably still goes in the top 10 for sure. Not top 3 now.

Saban has a mess the likes he hasn't seen here before. Wonder if he has the drive left to straighten it out with what he will have to do to turn it around. Complete overhaul of coaches and coaching styles will have to be addressed. This is the weakest team physically all around I can remember. Strength and conditioning has tanked since Cochran left.

Strength. We lack it on both lines. My two cents.

LSU outplayed us in almost every facet of the game. It’s fitting that they won.

Even if we had won in OT, this Bama team was not a top 4 team. I think it likely that given this team’s sloppy and erratic play that the committee would have leap-frogged TCU over us into the no. 4 spot anyway. Hopefully the team can cobble together enough W’s to get to 10 wins for the season. That now seems to be the only realistic goal left for this team and it’s not guaranteed by any means.

It’s been a great run, and I don’t think we can ever pay Coach enough for what he’s done for this program. I trust that he knows what is really going on with this team and what needs to be done. Something has been wrong ever since the Florida game last year and has never been resolved. It will be interesting to watch the off-season and see what, if anything, happens. I know this—unless there are drastic changes, we are going to see more of the same as over the last two years and the gap between us and Georgia will begin to widen even further. Kirby and Georgia are building something and have clearly dethroned us as the dominant program in the conference.

Realistically holding LSU to 24 in regulation should be an easy win in modern college football.
Realistically Saban's scheme (you know the same one Georgia runs) and the talent Alabama has (Alabama is loaded on defense) should be able to produce a stop when the game is on the line.

This entire year Young has been bailing Golding's mediocrity out. It isn't that it's always terrible, but it's not nearly as great as it should be either. They're giving up almost twice as many points as Georgia. That's not ok!

Sure, I don't disagree that a change is needed at our coordinator spots. I also think that it's a little crazy that with as many analysts as we keep on staff that we don't come out of a bye with a better game plan, but I also don't think that this spells the end of a dynasty either.

It's been a minute since I was this wired after a loss. I'm looking for answers and only see problems and more questions.
You and me both. We had 2 weeks to prepare and this was the result. lsu looked like they prepared, we looked exactly the same as we have looked for 2 years now. I almost turned the game off twice. I might not watch next week because I cannot deal with the stress and it would probably just anger me. Serious changes need to be made after this season. If we have the same OC and DC next fall, it will be much more of the same or worse.

Feels like 2010 unfortunately ... got another tough game next week. LSU went from dead in the water to first in the west by beating Bama, can't make this up lol
Feels worse than 2010. In 2010, it seemed like we had the makings of a sound program with a bright future in front of us. We had great young players everywhere that were just inexperienced. Now it feels like we’re on the way out. Hope I’m wrong.

My concern isn't so much about this team. I knew that Alabama wasn't going to win it all a few weeks ago. My concerns are broader, as I think that they are for most here. This is the greatest dynasty in the history of the game, and I really don't want it to end.

Saban looked desperate at times in this game. If he starts to feel that he has become ineffective, he will walk away. A win next week would make everyone feel a lot better, but that seems like a pipe dream right now.

We really could be witnessing the end of an era.
