Realistically Saban's scheme (you know the same one Georgia runs) and the talent Alabama has (Alabama is loaded on defense) should be able to produce a stop when the game is on the line.

This entire year Young has been bailing Golding's mediocrity out. It isn't that it's always terrible, but it's not nearly as great as it should be either. They're giving up what, twice as many points as Georgia? That's not ok!
No argument from me. I think 24 is too much, but if the offense played with some level of consistency 24 points would get you beat by at least 13

having 12 men on the field before and then after a timeout when the opponent is going for 2 points for the win and your season is pretty much on the line speaks volumes. Most are in shock because the type of play that we have had in major matchups is not typical of any BAMA team we have seen in the Saban era. RTR
To be fair the 12th man was Moore. Doesn’t really surprise me.

This is the thing that I just flat damn don`t understand. Let`s see what CNS` explanation is.
I know everyone is saying going for two is stupid but the first time it would have put us up by 3. The second time it would have put us up by 6 and that would have at least given us a chance at a desperation block of an extra point to keep the game tied. When you look back on it it is stupid but that is what the sheet says do in games.

My concern isn't so much about this team. I knew that Alabama wasn't going to win it all a few weeks ago. My concerns are broader, as I think that they are for most here. This is the greatest dynasty in the history of the game, and I really don't want it to end.

Saban looked desperate at times in this game. If he starts to feel that he has become ineffective, he will walk away. A win next week would make everyone feel a lot better, but that seems like a pipe dream right now.

We really could be witnessing the end of an era.
Do you think he would hang it up this year if wheels fall off? I hope not, but is it a possibility? I want him to right the ship.

I think Saban will Coach two more seasons unless next year is bad which I fear will be if there aren't major changes. And if so he retires.

Say what you will about coaches and play calling, but nobody is talking about the real problem. This team is getting WHIPPED, and I mean manhandled at the line of scrimmage. Either all of these 5 star recruits that we hear about are busts, or we aren't doing a good job of developing them. Because they are getting rolled up at the line of scrimmage. We almost couldn't run the ball in from the one yard line.
I posted in the game thread that we might be missing Cochran more than we're letting on. I know half of the S&C dream team left. Haven't heard a lot about S&C this year.

Guys...people were saying that we were over and done with before the 2020 season too. Not every season is going to be perfect. I am just as frustrated with the game as anyone else here is. But be realistic. Yes, we need better coordinators, but you can also maybe appreciate that we've also suffered at times from a lack of continuity in our coordinator spots too as they've been recruited to other teams.

The program isn't dead, just like it wasn't dead in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018-19, or 2021. We just need adjustments and, IMHO, some fresh blood in a few positions, including receiver.
I don’t think we are over and done with but we have seriously underperformed this year and it has been a trend from last year even though we went to the NC game. We are the most penalized team in the conference and I think the country. I don’t think we have ever been this bad. That is a serious issue. The lack of discipline and the lack of offensive consistency are serious problems that need to be addressed. So is the habitually collapsing defense.

The dynasty didn’t end after those other seasons because we made changes and fixed our deficiencies. We fired underperforming coordinators. But the messaging we get this season is that everything is fine.

Sure, I don't disagree that a change is needed at our coordinator spots. I also think that it's a little crazy that with as many analysts as we keep on staff that we don't come out of a bye with a better game plan, but I also don't think that this spells the end of a dynasty either.
Indeed...

How many of them do we have on staff?

And for what exactly...

There have been several times this season when Bama needed to get off the field on 3rd & whatever and just weren't in position to do it. That's on coaching.

Okay some parody here but you cannot make this stuff up…brian kelly comes to the sec, really to try to beat saban and be able to have better talent than nd, tenner hires bobby’s propane selling doppelgänger with an explosive offense, kelly gets beat pretty bad early and people say welcome to the sec, roll to the tenner game we are both undefeated and we lose for the first time in 15 years to them, tons of penalties missed potential gw fg, then they become #1 in the polls for the first time since nirvana was headlining at the whisky…

then come to lspoo they have righted the ship and we somehow get out coached and lose in ot and now they are in 1st in the west and we are in third behind them and olesis…also we are in the run for most penalized team in the country and give up points and yards, to good talent major matchups, like stevie wonder in a game of one on one with michael jordan, well maybe not that bad…now the good news is that we are BAMA and we are going to be okay RTR

Saban has a mess the likes he hasn't seen here before. Wonder if he has the drive left to straighten it out with what he will have to do to turn it around. Complete overhaul of coaches and coaching styles will have to be addressed. This is the weakest team physically all around I can remember. Strength and conditioning has tanked since Cochran left.
Yes along with non contact related ACL and Achilles tears as well. He brought a toughness to the program but refused to change technical things to avoid injury.
