This post reminds me of the resignation of the fact I spent nearly six figures to obtain a seminary education and haven't had a religious discussion with anyone since the day I left - because they're pointless.The "theodicy question" -- why a good God allows evil -- is the #1 problem atheists/agnostics state in their reasons to disbelieve in God. Hey, its a problem for me and I've been a believe for 64 years -- still don't understand it.
Not entirely pointless if a CONVERSATION sharing different perspectives takes place rather than each person spouting their beliefs and not listening to the other. I had a whole cadre of people who attended worship not because they were deep believers, but because they were curious and I was not close-minded.
