Both are really good coaches -- word from a person familiar with them. Roberts was the sacrificial lamb at BU -- he''s a good DC.

So you are telling me Auburn will have better coaches than we currently have, albeit less talent. And they will be competitive on that basis.
Hopefully after the December signing day we get some movement. I think Bill is gone for sure. Pete, I think we are probably stuck with him.
The reality is we don't know...CNS does not show his hand...especially at this stage in the "poker/recruiting" game. I'm betting more changes are made than we can imagine.
I hope you are right. He has never showed his hand when letting coaches go or replacing those moving up the ladder.
My only clue is losing the safeties coach to CU...I know he got a promotion, but the way our safeties played this year was not up to their preseason hype imho. He may have been encouraged to find something else..."mene, mene, tekel, uparsin..."
All I can say is this...I hope any changes Saban makes are 'home run' hires/changes. The competition in the SEC, now even in the East Division, you can't stand still anymore. Whats that old Madden saying "If he's even he's leavin'!!!! This, this applies to us!!!!

That alone is very impressive, but can they teach (coach). Are they handicapped by their coordinators? I cannot imagine CNS letting that happen. Something's gotta give this coming season. Maybe we need some assistants who can recruit and coach. While I am no fan of O'Brien, I had rather see him retained than Golding.

Me too. I think if there was confidence in our defense stopping teams, we might see a different game being called by BOB.
I wonder if he would try to grind it out some instead of calling three straight passes for a series just to try to move the ball. I just feel the pressure for the offense to score is so high because we know the defense just can't slow teams down.
I think we need to flip this a bit, recruits won't come if they don't think they will get coached up to get to the league. If you can't coach/teach, then #1 recruiting class is worthless. Unless of course, you like going 10-2 or 9-3 each year. Heck...thats LSU standard right there!!!!

I totally agree with this. We have relied on Bryce for two full seasons to rescue us. Fortunately he was the kind of player who could do that. We became a team totally reliant on its Heisman QB to pull us out of the fire. We had no balance on either side of the ball, and I think we all knew that sooner or later Bryce, alone, would not be enough to save a game. This is squarely on the coaches, especially on the defensive side.

Kelly is technically still at Bama. He is out recruiting. I'm pretty sure he will be here through signing day and probably through the bowl game, then leave after that.
