I'm not trying to go back and forth.... Clint tagged Shannon Terry and they were talking about it on the show and then listed 29.99 cost to listen to the whole thing. It's not actually what was posted... I was just pointing out that he has to be little careful... I didn't say he had to take it down or nothing.. just be careful, that's all.

Now, let's move on.

No worries. I'll be careful. I didn't realize they were promo'ing it to drive subscribers; I just thought it a useful insight to share with folks who don't read every board out there. (I'm not on the Rivals or 247 sites, for instance.)

Doesn't he normally wait until after the the signing day in February to make these type of announcements? I know it's been a while since we hired a coordinator from another college, but my recollection is that this was his normal way of doing things.
Sark was hired in January from Atlanta. We still have a day. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

My final two cents on coordinators…
I don’t think he’s intentionally going slow on hiring an OC; he’s talked to more than a few, I think, don’t know if any offers were made, but maybe he wasn’t thrilled by the interviews. I’m not convinced this is by design, just the way it’s working out even without offers being made.
Now, the pace of the DC search may be intentional because of JP and his issues; but that doesn’t necessarily mean the OC search has to go at the same pace.
And I’m sorry, but with Bama’s offensive situation, it’s ludicrous IMO to think he wouldn’t want the new OC on board before spring practice starts, ESPECIALLY if he hires someone he’s not extremely familiar with; not caring about whether it’s done before spring practice or not makes NO sense and sounds nothing like the Saban I’ve seen for the last 20+ years.
A rash, rushed decision would likely be a mistake, but I’d bet Saban has been doing his homework since the season ended, so unless there have been offers extended and refused, it’s just taking longer than maybe we thought it would; and although I don’t think he set a “deadline”, he knows the sooner he gets the right one the better it will be.

IMHO, Grubb comes to Tuscaloosa for the exact same money if Coach wants him. Not another place on the planet that can help his resume like the Bama job working for Saban.

If anything this is the first step of making it official. Letting it leak that they have just started talking when it has probably been going on since Golding Left.
Not really. Dodd is just another guy who gets an internet rumor and pushes it out without any real evidence to support it. The credible people in the media have already been reporting it for weeks now and have been far less sure Pruitt is the guy at DC.

To give you an idea… Low has pretty much been very skeptical on Pruitt’s return as DC but not dismissing it. But has pretty much signaled today that Grubb is probably the guy in the front of the OC job line right now.

There is not a bigger story in College football right now than “who will be Alabama’s OC and DC”. With that comes a lot of click bait and a lot of nonsense rumors. Dodd and Stephen Smith are the kings of both.

Well said. If we are entertaining $2 mil for an OC then chances are there are some names for DC in Saban's black book that hasn't been on our radar yet either.
