Yeah, zero winners here.

It sounds like this woman will likely stay behind bars until March of 2024, deservedly so.

I wish more people understood how bad alcohol is for you. I'm no tee-totaler but there's really very little upside to drinking alcohol, and there's a LOT that can go wrong when you don't have limits.
I would have a glass of wine with a meal...until myeloma appeared. The doctor doesn't forbid it, but research revealed it is not good for me. The more I read about the effects of alcohol, even in moderation, upon the brain and body, the less I am inclined to drink even one glass. I've learned to enjoy ice water with lemon...

OTOH, some people in the longevity "blue zones" drink 1-2 glasses of red wine per day and live significantly longer. But they do have an overall better diet and are usually physically active...

I've always been ruefully amused by the fact that the French smoke unfiltered cigarettes and engage in a diet high in fat/carbs, but live longer than we do. Most of their movement is via walking or bicycling, though. They are far more physically active than the average American.

“At this moment in history, we are formally requesting that the team revitalize its relationship with the American Indian community by (i) changing the name back to ‘The Redskins’ which recognizes America’s original inhabitants and (ii) using the team’s historic name and legacy to encourage Americans to learn about, not cancel, the history of America’s tribes and our role in the founding of this Great Nation,” the letter read.

“Should we need to encourage a national boycott similar to what happened with Anheuser Busch (Bud Light) which is now down $27 billion (note, not one brick thrown, not one highway blocked, not one bridge burned) — WE WILL DO JUST THAT,” the letter added.
There isn't much hope to be had in an idiocracy, but sometimes.....just sometimes.....I see a glimmer of hope anyway.

So this group has the same name as a baseball team that turned woke and dropped an “offensive” name to appeal to libtard snowflakes. [/blue font]

In my defense, I was fully in favor of the Washington team taking a more modern, more progressive mascot that truly reflected our values as a nation, but no matter how many letters I wrote, no one would respond to my suggestion of the Washington Groomers. I see this as nothing less than a lost opportunity.😝

The AMA says trans women who want to give birth can 'plausibly justify' the subsidy of uterus transplants which cost up to $300,000.
How about absolutely not?

I guess it depends on whether or not you think being transgender is a choice or not.

I don't think anyone would choose that lifestyle because of all the heartache that goes with it, therefore, I support the AMA's decision as a good one.

I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would choose the lifestyle of a heroin addict, but people do it every day. I'm not suggesting that gender dysphoria isn't a real thing; it most certainly is, but the idea that every single trans person out there has this malady is preposterous. We don't always know why people do the things they do, but this feels like the logical starting point to take when someone "comes out" as trans. Is is true gender dysphoria or just some poor sap with abandonment issues who is desperate seeking approval or affection? It sure feels to me like few are interested in making the distinction, but considering the 40% suicide rate that comes with it, I think it's very important.

No one chooses to be a heroin addict. They choose to get high and for a myriad of reasons they become addicted.

Being trans is not a "malady" in need of a cure.

If being trans is a choice, when did you make your decision to be straight? Is there any possibility of you deciding you want to be trans at some point in the future? Did someone groom you into thinking a curvaceous woman in a bikini is sexy, or were you just born that way? My belief is trans people are who they are, and we should let them live their lives with dignity.
Is is true gender dysphoria or just some poor sap with abandonment issues who is desperate seeking approval or affection?
Who cares? I suspect the vast majority of trans people are genuine gender dysphoria. Those are the people I'm interested in seeing get the help they need.

Cheating allegations in D.C. Little League put high-powered parents at war

A bench-clearing brawl of sorts has broken out over alleged cheating in a Little League serving one of the District’s wealthiest neighborhoods.

Not among the kids, of course.

The verbal dust-up between grown-ups began last week after an email blast accused Northwest Washington Little League president Ricky Davenport-Thomas and his allies of engaging in a long-running pattern of cheating to stack the league and his own team with talent — allegations Davenport-Thomas has denied.
