Jalen Milroe is now the starter going forward.

“Saban probably figured he would go with the one who is at least an explosive athlete and may add a few highly positive plays”
Wouldn’t that have been the reason he picked him to start the season? Why go through all the drama?

How can you not see Milroe lost the Texas game?
If you say this enough times it still won't be true. They way you are saying it puts no blame on the oline. The Defense who got no pressures and no sacks. The play calling that had no imagination.

Yep. There is obviously a large portion of the team that just doesn’t like him…for whatever reason. It’s honestly not fair to him.
Again not sure if this is true that the team doesn't like him. Before the end of the day this will be another fact. At every level the QB has to win the locker room. Anyone who has played football or been around it knows the team doesn't just start disliking the 3rd string qb.

At this point I just hope Ty doesn’t transfer and light it up against us. Honestly, we would deserve it.
Transferring has only worked out for 1 of our qb's in the past.

This is as it should be.

By my personal eyeball test, Milroe would have waxed South Florida and obviously Saban agrees. Maybe it would have been like 31 to 10, factoring in a pick 6 to keep the Milroe haters happy. ;)
I think he would have done better against SF also. I also believe we are going to win this weekend.

Of course he is not the only problem. He’s 90% of it. Rees can’t call plays for Milroe. And I don’t mean to say he’s a bad OC. I mean there’s literally nothing he can call. Milroe has no short or intermediate accuracy. He only has the long ball. For every QB that has ever played football, the long ball is feast or famine. You can’t rely on it. Instead, Rees tried some long-developing pass plays hoping someone would get open, and if not, Milroe would use his athleticism to escape. Instead, Milroe ran right into a sack at least twice. Now Rees is thinking “Crap, we are screwed. I can’t call anything. He has already thrown 2 picks.”

So what’s the answer? Bench him? Well, we saw how the OL responded to that…

You guys can sit here with your heads in the sand all you want, but the problems are staring at you right in the face.

Even though it was blue text from an earlier poster, I agree that Jalen gives us the best chance with this porous offensive line since he's the fastest QB of the bunch. I just wish he would pull the trigger faster when he needs to run. Just have to expect every defense going forward is going to copy what Texas did until our OC and Jalen can prove they can beat it.

But why not?

If he's the best QB, why not play him Sat.???

If CNS is playing games and he just wanted to show everybody Buchner or Simpson is not the answer then he's messing with the player's heads.

None of this makes sense!

I don't know if it was some kind of test or what, but in the article about this, Saban noted that Jalen was a great teammate during the USF game, supported the team despite not playing, and showed the kind of leadership they were looking for. As others have said, I'm going to trust Coach Saban and hope that Jalen finds the groove very soon.
