If Ole P was 1st Pivot Game of year, this is definitely the 2nd one. 1st place in SECW is on the line.

I would have hoped we'd have our offensive struggles ironed out more smoothly by now, but defense is winning games this year. I don't see how that won't be needed on Saturday as well.

Biggest difference from OM: this game is on the road at Kyle Field, which is a tough place to play, and TAMU is undoubtedly a more talented team.

What will it take to leave with a win?

This is a game that has to be played “in 20’s” or less. In other words, we have to hold then to under 30 points. We can’t get in a shootout with them. Defensively the TAMU front seven is pretty stout. And I really don’t see a tremendous drop off by going to Max Johnson after the injury to their starting QB.

We can’t settle for FG’s like last night, especially on a short field. Last night MSU “gifted us” about 20 points. This offense must start sustaining drives that end in touchdowns.

Texas A&M might be the best team we have played so far to include their big brother Texas. Their one loss was against one of the best quarterbacks in college football on the road.

I don’t feel great about the matchup between their Oline and Dline but our defense will keep us in the game. But we can’t take unnecessary sacks or give them short fields like we did vs Texas and expect to win.

This is basically the common LSU-Alabama game from 2007-19 in which the winner is most likely in Atlanta and the loser is thinking of about whether 2 or 3 plays went differently.

Early feelings is that we win by a late FG

I am very concerned about playing at Kyle Field.

I’ve watched JessN split the match ups in our past two games with teams that aren’t as talented as A&M.

This team has a lot of growing up yet to do and they need to do a lot of it this week.

I won’t pick us to lose though.
if the game was in Tuscaloosa I would still feel the same. Their defensive front is one of the best if not the best in the country. They are a team that can totally shut our run game down and force Milroe to beat them with his arm. However I’m not sure that they have seen a defensive unit like us either, and we have seen Max Johnson before.

Agreed. I will add that I would feel worse if this were a night game. It’s probably going to be 105 degrees at kickoff and while both teams can deal with the heat, maybe it will wither those weirdo fans.

Their DL is good. Seth is going to have issues especially.

If Milroe continues to hold the ball, they will get to him often.

I dont think we match up well at all. Plus I dont know how well Milroe can handle that environment.

This game feels like we have to hope we force some turnovers and not make huge mistakes. Feels like we are the inferior team and they should be favored.

I said before the season started if we lost one this would be it, playing at Kyle Field is no joke and I think A&M will play us like Texas did on defense because they know Milroe is not a passer and shut down our run, he has to get rid of the ball more and not take sacks, also our defense can only hold up for so long and Max Johnson fits Bobby Petrino style better than the other guy, going to be a tough game

Bama needs to run screens and quick passes so the A&M pass rush will be slowed down. This will help Milroe get in rhythm.

Little too early to worry about TAMU. I don't understand why everyone thinks we can't beat them because of their record? If you look into the team a little like I have and Ive been watching them the last two weeks and I don't see what people are saying about them.

The schedule they played compared to the one Alabama played so far. Significant gap.
They played the following: New Mexico, Miami, UL Monroe, Auburn and Arkansas.

They lost to Miami 48-33. Play calling wasn't good in that game.

They played Auburn. 27-10. What's missing the context of the game is that TAMU struggled to score in first half. In 2nd half, they scored 14 points in 3rd and 7 points in 4th. If Auburn had a decent QB, I think Auburn wins this game.

They just played Arkansas yesterday 34-22. TAMU did not play well yesterday. They had interception returned for a TD, had 2 fumble, missed FG kick. (3 turnovers)
The reason the Tamu won was because of Punt Touchdown, and Interception Touchdown for TAMU. Offense struggled . It was a close game than the score indicated.

So anyone who says Alabama doesn't match up with TAMU on the field, isn't accurate. I'm looking at their performances in the last few weeks... and They are not impressive team.

I still expect Texas AM to generate some issues for Bama, but I believe Bama has enough weapons/ better playcalling to hold them off. Also, We have to remember Saban isn't over the loss TAMU gave them so there will be some intense coaching this weekend I really think this is the week that Bama grows up on the field.

BTW, If Bama beat TAMU this saturday, they would be stretching their lead on SEC WEST, and owe tiebreaker over Ole Miss and Texas A and M. It will come down to LSU game to clinch the title unless LSU lose another game.

People are worried because the last time we played there we lost with Bryce Young at QB. They weren't even a good team that year. I believe they had already lost 2 games. We should have lost last year at home with the current QB we have. It is going to be really loud and we have a lot of problems going in so people are concerned. If you think this will be a cakewalk then you are just crazy. I think my reputation on here is enough to show I am not an eeyore at all, and I got a few worries about this game. I do not feel confident at all. I will do my part and bike that morning, but it is all I can do.

No one is saying that we don’t match up. Everyone is more concerned about their clear advantages and our perceived advantages. Their Dline is amongst the best in the country and our Oline is a work in progress. They have proven that the last two matchups vs them and this is by far the best iteration of that defensive line.

Our defense is probably what makes this a game which slightly shifts the game back in our favor. It allows us an opportunity to make up for a few offensive mistakes. If Weigman was healthy then I would say we lose, but this is max Johnson still. The reason they aren’t blowing the barn doors off people is because Max still is max.

The only game they lost was against an elite quarterback on the road. Unless you are saying that Milroe has the same capabilities in terms of points as Van Dyke then I don’t see how we can say their loss to Miami is any more revealing than our loss to Texas at home.

Texas A&M is the best team remaining on our schedule as far as complete teams go. If Weigman was still able to go then they would be the best team Period.

I’m expecting a 27-24 type game. We win because we make one more drive than them.

A thing to note about JM: When we RPO and he keeps to throw it takes him longer to find open receivers after he's made the decision to pass.

I think we need more straight 7 yard drops. Throw in some play action type fakes to keep them honest. But when he take a direct drop he gets back there faster and has more time to process what he sees.

Since he's slow to read and react this gives him more time.

He needs to be coached to look for 1st read and if it's not there run straight up the gut!
