There was a point in the Arkansas game where he should have went north to get the first down, but he went east west and almost didn't make it.
Bama's Offensive game plans in this season are not impressive. I kept thinking it would get cranked up...but I think it would have happened by now. But....I still expect to win, and as bad as things have sometimes been..we are 6-1. Proof that things could be worse.

I am sure you have heard this, but there is a rumor out there that Jalen may be injured and doesnt have the gear right now. All other QBs have disappeared. Seems that it is Jalen....or no one. Not sure if that is true or not, but up to this point it sure seems like it.
Coach Saban said after the usf game that jm was the qb going forward. Only way the other qb's see the field is if jm can't walk onto it.

I'll also say that Milroe is the most athletic bad running quarterback I've ever seen. With his speed and athleticism, he gets tackled very easily when he decides to run. I don't expect him to be Vick or Lamar Jackson, but geeze, I expected A LOT more of his running ability than what I've seen.
Reading message boards regarding his pocket presence and his issues with reading the defense, some have suggested that Rees should simplify the offense to suit him. If his first read isn't there, take off and run! I actually think it's a great idea. football at its very essence, is a simple game. Milroe is a fast and physical runner in open space, let him do what he is best at.

Milroe often doesn't have a clue where his dump off route is....he also never throws to a hot WR when we all see a blitz coming off the edge, he never sees the blitz until its too late.
Yes. It would be much better to have an AJ Mccarron getting in the face of the offensive line rather than a QB that appears to be campaigning for most popular.

I have no idea if this is true, but he hasn't looked the same as a runner since the Miss St. game, so I gotta believe there is something to it.

Who knows? It could be some sort of nagging injury, but even so, JM is trying to prove to everyone he can be a reliable pocket passer.

Look, I don't blame him. It could be worth millions if he does so in the NFL.

But, as a right now, he plays for Bama not the Bears, Bucks or Bengals.

Unless a receiver is wide-open 50 yards downfield, if he has green grass in front of him he need to be running every time. His straight-ahead gear is probably the best on the team.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think some of that comes from Milroe’s indecisiveness, he hesitates to run a lot of times in the pocket which causes sacks and linemen downfield penalties.

-50 rushing yards in two games for an athlete of his caliber is not going to cut it.

I expected him to be more elusive and harder to tackle in the open field, but he's not.

Oh I love this play, I was yelling so loud at my house I woke some people up, has to be a top ten play from the Saban era.
I agree.

That was the year we played TAMU after LSU. I was at the game and during the pre-game videos they spliced this play into the video. It's one of those times I literally felt the hair stand up on my neck. It was only one week old then but I knew it would be a play for the ages.

I don't know if I've ever felt a buzz in BDS like I did before that game with TAMU and Johnny football. I know we lost, but it all worked out by season's end!

It seems like the main issues with the sacks and running game are the lack of pre snap reads. There are never any adjustments, it just "here is the play, let's hope it works."
The one positive is Milroe just takes the sack and goes to the next play. He never tries some falling to the ground miracle throw.

The coaches need to make a change at left tackle. He is a spectator on most plays watching the defensive player blow by him and he looks surprised that he got beat. He is to big, clumsy and slow to play the position. If I'm a defensive player opposing him I would be chomping at the bit to run past him for an easy almost guarantied sack because Milroe will only run towards the sideline or backwards.

If we lose another game I say make a change at QB and play Ty or the true freshman the rest of the year to get experience for next year. Give Milroe the option to play running back or receiver where he can use his running ability.

When Jalen Hurts or Jayden Daniels, for that matter commit to run they turn on the jets and use their athleticism. Due to Milroe's indeciveness his feet actually slow down. He may be attempting to be a Bryce Young but Bryce was completely unique in his ability to operate as a point guard.
Trying to operate in that no man's land they way Milroe does is a recipe for failure.

I think Milroe played in a pro style offense in high school and just doesn't want to run much. I think the long run he had against MSU he maybe tweaked a hamstring (if the rumor is true). Since then, he has not run very much at all. Maybe he is afraid of getting hurt, maybe the coaches have told him not to run much, maybe they know our backups are not ready. Whatever the case, I hope if he does have a slight injury that it heals over the bye week and he can start using his legs more to help open up the offense. He did run some in the last game, but he wasn't that fast compared to his normal speed. There are so many reasons the offense is having issues... Milroe, O line, play calling, Rees, not playing the other RB's very much, etc.

Saban alluded to the fact that he probably isn't changing the LT spot because it causes other issues on the O line. I doubt Simpson is here next year. If there is a change at QB, it should be Lonergan. I bet Simpson, Buchner transfer, especially if Saban brings in a transfer QB (in my opinion he will). My best guess with no inside info is the QB room next year will be : a transfer QB from the portal, Sayin, Lonergan. Not sure what Milroe will do or Holstein.

He waits too long to decide to run.
