You can add the video of BoB screaming at Mac on the sidelines to the pile of nonsense circus.

As a side note, following Mac to New England had some of the New England sports groups to appear on my facebook feed. I was very surprised at the number of lead paint licking mouthbreathers that follow that team. Any person with half a brain can see that Mac isn’t the only issue there, they don’t see it though.

Several things here:

Mac did really well as a rookie. I don't know what's happened since then, but he was in the discussion for the 2021 offensive ROTY. Now he's in the race for first 2023 starting QB to play himself out of a job.

The DC as OC thing at New England was an obvious train wreck. So when Mac called for help, my memory is that he actually called BoB when he (BoB) was in Tuscaloosa -- somebody correct me if that's wrong. Now he has BoB as his full-time OC, and regardless of whether Mac consulted him last year, that relationship looked broken today in Frankfurt.

I don't think Belichick ever truly forgave Mac for calling outside the NE staff for help. Based on a public chewing, the relationship with BoB looks pretty hopeless. And Mac has a reputation for trash talking, so I'm betting he hasn't helped himself on that front.

Yeah, Mac needs out of NE and will probably have to settle for a backup position. Based on his performance in college and as an NFL rookie, I really believe he's better than he's looking right now. I hope he gets a chance at a new beginning.

A Quarterback is only as good as his offensive line, receivers and an offensive scheme built around their capabilities. The NFL salary cap and the stupid high 1st round draft pick contract values make it really hard to sign the and keep the QB's supporting cast. A coach's ego about "his" system gets in the way, too.

How's Bryce doing? Yeah, same problem.

A game a few weeks ago the showed some Pats fans when they brought Zappe in, they were cheering loudly....Zappe, Zappe, Zappe.

He proceeded to throw horrible pass after horrible pass. The throws weren't even close.

The whole offense is a dumpster fire.
Defense had players but injuries limited their playing time. Offense has been pathetic, and it’s not just Mac.
Mac’s first year showed his promise (playing in a pathetically-coached offense) and his perils (finding a decent OC who could work with BB). All they could get was BoB, and he wasn’t the cure for their dysfunction.
Put Zappe in and let MJ ride the bench. Gotta change - what they’re doing now ain’t working and if it’s a team-wide problem, it’ll show.

Mac is limited and on a bad team. I could see him being better in a better system but i don't think he's a franchise QB type.

Hopefully he sticks around at least as a backup. Being a backup QB is a pretty great job and you almost always get a shot eventually. Maybe if he gets out of NE and get to a more functional team he'll get a second shot eventually. And with less pressure

I’m a Pats fan. Most of us realize it’s not just Mac. He’s had 3 different OC’s in 3 years. One being an actual defensive coordinator and another being BOB. He also has zero weapons to throw to and a terrible Oline. No QB can succeed with a bad scheme, slow receivers and no time to throw.

Mac's a good not great QB and he deserves better, this game I think is on Ole Bill, you just don't pull starter on the last drive if you're pulling Mac pull him earlier

This * and That **

* I have followed several Patriots message boards since they drafted Mac and several beat writers post articles and participate on the board. Bill is one of those guys who doesn't forgive and is "done with you" once you've done something that he feels broke trust/rank and apparently, when Mac went outside the organization to get help it was at that moment Bill was done with Mac.

**His mouth doesn't help him at all. We heard stories of it at Bama when he was running the practice squad, but after he became the starter never heard anything about it again. When you're operating within a historic offense and winning a national championship it probably hides/masks a lot of personality sins. But when things are going bad they are noticeable front and center. Mac probably needs his butt kicked one real good time to tame his tongue but make no mistake about it, it is a very real problem that has gotten nowhere in the locker room and with his coaches.
