Bama getting no respect

I think if Texas beats Iowa St then Oklahoma St has the inside track because they beat both KSU and OU head to head.

But then again they just puked all over themselves this past week vs UCF so it's not a given they get by Houston and BYU.

You need a PhD in Mathematics to try and figure out who will finish #2 in the Big12 right now.
It's like a Jig Saw Puzzle where every piece is similar.

One or both is gonna happen today.....Oregon State beats Washington and/or Iowa State beats Texas.

I'd love to see Oregon State win today and next week, then win their conference in the last year of its existence.

By the way:
a) today is November 18
b) with a night game in Ames
c) between a four-loss Iowa State team
d) and a team on course for the playoffs if they win

I would love for the lightning that hit a dozen years ago tonight to hit the same place twice.

Too many teams have been playing with fire the past few weeks. Some upsets are bound to happen.

With all of these potentially playoff changing upsets today, I think the games have been talked up so much that the higher ranked teams with playoff hopes will be too alert and dialed in to stumble. For example, Oregon State over UW is probably our best hope today, but that game has been highlighted so much, OSU is actually favored to win the game. UW has largely played to its competition this year, so while they have struggled putting bad teams away, they have gotten up for all of their big games. UW will therefore be in high alert with a chip on their shoulder vs OSU.

I certainly hope for at least one team ahead of us to stumble, but am kind of expecting that not to happen this weekend.

Interesting discussion on game day regarding if Bama beats Georgia.

Herby and Desmond says it would be Bama going in above an undefeated FSU team!

Sometimes people question why people such as myself rely on Sagarin. Well, it helps get rid of some of the stupidity humans have sometimes. Case in point, James Madison. Not eligible for the post season, so not ranked by the committee but stupid humans in the AP and coaches have them at 18 and 21 respectively.

I have no problem with any poster who relies on Sagarin, because in all honesty they ought to use it.

I have a problem with posters who rant and rave (no reflection on present company) about "but we played the toughest schedule and the committee ain't giving us credit for it" when the committee HAS SAID EXPLICITLY they DO NOT use advanced metrics. They use the - you and I agree here - lame method of "how many games did their opponents win" which is sometimes accurate, usually not.

Citing Sagarin to make a point out the committee rankings doesn't make any sense at all when they don't use them in the first place.

I don't see it

I don't, either.

If this were the Virginia Cavaliers or BC Eagles, yes.

We aren't going in over and undefeated Florida State - not and exclude them.

Florida State has as many national championships in the last 35-plus years as Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Michigan combined, it's a brand name. We might make it and be #3 to their #4 seed, but we ain't going in and them missing it with no losses.

The top 8 will remain unchanged again this week - maybe FSU drops a meaningless spot. More importantly, there is still not a path for Alabama to make the CFP without help.

Need FSU or Texas to lose.

Oregon will get in with a win over Washington. The B1G is getting a team in. So the PAC and B1G get two spots, with their losers out.

Texas gets in ahead of Alabama if they win out.

An undefeated FSU gets in if they win out.

Beat Auburn and let's check in again next Sunday.

I just don’t see how you keep the SEC champion out. They would lose tons of viewers.
