Lane train too much baggage.
Sark Doubt he leaves Texas with ability to recruit in that state.
Smart Not leaving
Debeor not a southeast guy
Dabo he is quirky and some don’t like him along with Clemson recent struggles

I think you have to start looking more outside the box.
Mike Norvell seems to be good coach decent recruiter.
Mike Locksley. Alabama guy was pretty good recruiter but Maryland been just meh but that not place that really backs football.
Eli Drinkwitz. Probably bit early for him but he is up and coming coach imo.
Billy Napier Alabama ties did great at lower levels not much at Florida but they had no talent in cupboard when he took over.
Demarco Ryan. No real college experience but great coach and motivator.
Luke Fickle.

Ryans has just about become the betting favorite, but the thing is, the Texans have a playoff game Saturday. It is NOT going to be him. The NFL is where he wants to be.

Interesting - second former player who says it's already a done deal...

The way yesterday unfolded, it's obvious a coach said YES and this has been in the works for some time. CNS is not the type of person who goes thru a normal day and just ups and calls his staff in and retires.

I just hope it is not any of these flavors of the month college coaches on the lists floating around.

I will say I think the majority of us are handling this transition fairly well.

Probably because we have been expecting it to happen at any time.

We’ve had some form of a ‘who replaces CNS’ type of thread several years in a row now because we knew it was coming sooner than later.

There is also less anxiety because CNS built a great foundation for the next incoming HC.

Things are a LOT better now than when CNS arrived and for that I’m super thankful.
I do wish CNS a long happy retirement. I was quite surprised yesterday as I thought he would get us thru at least the first year of the "New SEC". But since no replacement has been announced yet, I think I'm getting more anxious by the minute.🤪

I said the same earlier, then I remind myself that the Texans' game is right around the 72 hour window, so who knows... if it is him it would certainly shock me.

Shock the world in a good way or a bad way...?
I was being sarcastic when I said a couple names but if we're being realistic but also talking about just blowing people's minds.

Dabo: Despite how a lot of Alabama fans feel about him, a coach who won two titles at Clemson leaving would be massive news.
Coach Prime: He's a circus everywhere he goes
Ryans: Successful young NFL coach leaving for his alma mater

Those are a couple names I would add to the shocking list.
But I guess the most shocking would be Urban Meyer.

If you ignore all the red flags, he checks all the boxes.

Three national championships.

I feel about him the way some people feel about Dabo, he's a walking red flag. But man can that guy coach. He's 59 so if he wanted to give it a go again, he certainly could.

Ryans doesn’t know how to recruit. Doesn’t know how to work the college game. Had he cut his teeth in college ball, I think this would be a smart bet. But there’s things about the college game he just doesn’t have a clue about.

Except ... after 3 years in Saban's 'recovery program,' Kiffin had to be fired before a national championship game for extreme conduct unbecoming. Not anywhere near the case with Sark.
It was a “zipper” problem. I personally know “of” at least one of the other parties in question. Whether there were others or who they were I do not know - but this one was no coed.

There is no way these former players are in the know IMHO. If so, it would have been leaked already. They have become fans just like us and like to speculate just like us. I really thought Lanning...but now idk. Norvell is the new fav at the betting site I follow. Lanning is now second. He was the huge favorite this AM.
