Who is Saban's replacement?

DeBeor would be Bryan Harsin 2.0. He’s never coached below Indiana. It’s just different from what he’s ALWAYS known.

Possibly, but the glaring difference is their coaching records. DeBeor has won and WON A LOT everywhere he's coached. Their coaching records aren't even comparable. He took a team to the NCG that many thought was less talented (overall) than Oregon.

That's why you do interviews though right? I can look up stuff in Wikipedia, and I can do my research, but there's no substitute for sitting someone down in front of you and asking them questions.

Just like DeBoer, he's a hot name right now but I'd have to sit him down and ask what his plan to recruit the southeast is. How would he improve his recruiting process and what specifically at Washington was impeding it and how that would change at Alabama.

I mean you have to probe these guys weaknesses right?

Edit: That's one reason I liked Lanning, you didn't have to ask him a lot of these questions. He knows Alabama, he knows the system, he knows the southeast, he can recruit and he can use the portal. He also doesn't have any major issues or concerns I'm aware of.
Sure, interview him................but I dont see him adapting at all to the new reality

I think I said this before. The only option out there that would excite me at this point is Sark.

Everyone else is settling IMO but of those DeBoer at least seems like he could be an elite coach. Idk. Hard to get pumped about anyone when you're losing the greatest of all time

Yep, the guy walking out IS THE top of the pyramid so anyone we hire is a step down.

That's not fair. Harsin never made the College Football Playoff, and never coached at a power 5 program before Auburn. If DeBoer is built different, like I think he is, then he can win anywhere.

We're talking about replacing the GOAT. Anything other than Kirby Smart, is going to feel like a disappointment, because since we've had so much success, the only way to go is down. Because of that, I don't feel too bad about rolling the dice with DeBoer. It comes with some risk, but there's huge potential reward there also

Josh Pate said that CNS spent all day on the phone with commits and recruits asking them to hold off on making any decisions until the HC is announce. Pate expects the new coach will be announced in the next 24-48 hours. stay tune.

I can only imagine the tension inside the building trying to hold onto these recruits
