I have a 2015 Accord (4 cyl) with a shade over 200k on it. It's started this stutter shortly after taking off in it to drive. Doesn't keep doing it, it'll hit and stop and won't come back. Never did it at high speeds. It happened 3 days in a row and then didn't do it for a couple months. Started again for a couple days and we wondered if we got bad gas. I put dryer in it with a fresh tank of gas. Ran a couple tanks through it. It did it again but again wasn't consistent in the stutter. Last Monday my wife takes off to work and while on the interstate it got real bad and the check engine light came on, then off, then on, then blinking. She got off the road and parked it till I could get to her. I cranked it and the check engine light is off. Drove it to a parts store to get the computer scanned and it stuttered on me multiple times getting there. They checked the computer and it's clean as a whistle, no codes, even after the check engine light had come on. Drove it home and it behaved like a brand new car.
I've since replaced plugs, coil packs, and cleaned the MAF sensor. Test driving after each one, and each time, I got the stutter. I've been told to check the fuel filter but I have learned it's non-serviceable, as it's in the fuel pump.
If anyone has any ideas, I'm open to them. I'm hoping I can correct whatever this is and not have to take it to a mechanic.

Weird that the check engine light came on but OBDII scanner shows no history. I'm guessing that it may be a tranny issue or a bad coil. 🤷‍♂️

Demon possessed?

I know nothing about cars and my experience is like yours when I take to get something fixed - most times they say they can't find anything wrong but as soon as I drive off lot, problem returns.

search found this video that talks about a sputter on honda accord. don't know if it's same issue you have.

sorry I'm no help otherwise.

Sounds like a part of Murphy’s Law. Any broken appliance when demonstrated for the repairman works perfectly.

If you’re missing like that the first thing I would do would be to check your plugs and coils. Have you had it tuned up?

disregard see you have.
I ran a tank of non-ethanol gas through and the issue seems to have subsided. If it does it again I have had a mechanic at the dealership offer to deep dive the computer system free of charge. He says he can see things with his lapto the ODBII system doesn’t record. Says he can tell me exactly how fast I was going whenever whatever this is/was occurred and what happened.

I have a 2019 Ridgeline, it started stuttering and the engine light started blinking. Ended up having fuel pump/filter replaced under warranty. Those are in the gas tank, so they will have to drop the tank to change it out.
These new vehicles are just about impossible for back yard mechanics anymore.

I always thought it was a dumb idea to put the fuel pump inside the gas tank.

On my '02 Silverado, I've changed the fuel pump out 3 times since I bought her in '05.

All 3 times I opted to lift the bed rather than drop the tank. I also learned to buy a spare and keep it on hand - just in case.

I can do the job now like a one man Nascar pit crew! :) Having a cordless impact wrench is the way to go to pop off those bed bolts!

Ridgeline is unibody, can not remove the bed. But I agree, they could have engineered it right outside the tank with a pickup inside.

I'd suspect the fuel filter given everything else you've tried, especially if they're original. May as well replace the pump while you're in there.
