Trump deeds and misdeeds VI

This is the question the justices should be asking themselves:

And if he orders all the justices assassinated?
Exactly. Are the ultra conservatives on the court so wraped around their political affiliation that they cannot see that they would be essentially giving up their role in the government to a dictator who would not be required to observe any powers of the Court or the Congress?

Kagan: If a president sells nuclear secrets to a foreign adversary, is that immune?
Sauer: If it's structured as an official act, he would have to be impeached and convicted first.
Such an absolutely tortuous argument, I would say rediculous, that the only means of a President being accountable for his crimes would be through impeachment by Congress for any heinous crime!

My head just cannot wrap itself around the idea that even this court will side with Trump on this. It’s not just about him but all presidents. They can’t just say it only applies to Trump. A president has never been above the law in this country, but that’s what they will be deciding. If one man is above all other persons and laws. That’s essentially a king. They side with Trump and they elevate the presidency to being a king.

It also would apply to Biden and I don’t see this court doing anything that could help Biden.
The goal of this corrupt court is to delay the trial as much as possible. They can do that easily by sitting on the case for several months then remanding it back to the lower courts.

And if a president is immune from all crimes committed while in office, then wouldn't he be immune from impeachment as well?

All he'd have to do is order the arrest of the members of congress who would vote to impeach and make them "disappear". If he is immune, try and stop him and see what happens to you.

Sources said former officials also told Smith's team that Trump refused to listen to certain briefings related to Russia, saying Trump "absolutely" didn't want to hear about Russian influence operations, and he couldn't be convinced that Russian troops were already operating inside Ukraine -- even as his own administration was publicly calling out their routine incursions into the country's eastern region to support Russian-backed separatists.

On the campaign trail, Trump recently insisted that he would have prevented Russia's all-out invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 if he were still commander-in-chief.

At this point, we should all know anything that comes out of Trump's mouth that isn't a about getting back at another person for a perceived slight or not being loyal enough is probably worthless.

Trump calls judge 'crooked' after facing a warning of jail time if he violates a trial gag order
“There is no crime. I have a crooked judge. He's a totally conflicted judge,” Trump said speaking to supporters at an event in Waukesha, Wisconsin, claiming again that this and other cases against him are led by the White House to undermine his campaign.

I'm of the belief that this judge will never throw him in jail and that's why he just keeps threatening it but only issuing fines. I just don't think he has the balls to throw a former president who is actively running for office again in jail. I hope I'm wrong, any normal person would be in jail right now for this many contempt charges. So basically, I'll believe the talk when the judge actually walks the walk. Throw this orange idiot in jail!

I think Trump wants him to throw him in jail so he can use that to scream he’s being persecuted. Every mug shot has seemed to make him more popular. It’s a wild situation. I didn’t think Trump had a chance in a general this time last year, but now if he’s not in jail he’s the favorite. I can’t believe it from just a pure political point of view.

Every election of any significance we’ve seen since the abortion ruling has gone the Dems way.
I don’t expect anything will change that equation, especially with all the right wing extremism we are seeing out of the individual states about women’s health and abortions.
I will not be surprised to see the Dems run the table this fall. House, Senate and White House.
Old white men telling women what they can and can’t do with their bodies does not sit well with the general public, that’s been made obvious over and over.

I definitely think the abortion issue will be an anvil around the neck of the GOP this Fall. The SC didn't do the GOP in favors for the general election. Not sure how the GOP moderates that.

Yet the national polls are not reflecting that at the top of the ticket...
Like him or hate him trump did well throwing it to the states and saying his opinion doesn’t matter and even criticizing some of the laws. It was smart political play.

Which surprises me, honestly. Surely that has to become more of an issue the closer we get to the Fall. Unless ...

... Trump's tactic is going to thread that needle. Don't see how that works considering his socially conservative nominees tipped the balance. But I've never been in touch with the pulse of the voting public, so what do I know? 🤷‍♂️

I tend to think that it's a "sleeping issue." It certainly has been in the mids. Here in HSV, a state house seat went to a Democrat, whom I think lost her bid in the next prior election for the same seat. My wife, who is as angry as most women are about it continually asks, "How do we know they're asking the right people?" Which is a good question. We'll get to find out how many women are walking around simmering and seething inside about this snatching away of "settled" rights...
