unless the wheels totally fall off or some major scandal happens then I put Kiffin being fired at less of a 1% chance of happening. Yes ole Miss has major exceptions on this year because of who is coming back and the schedule but I think ole miss fans are happy with the results so far
Fired? No, but if Florida dangles enough moolah at Kiffin, I think he goes. Ole Miss better have a decent counter offer prepared.

With the current athletic director, why would Kiffin want to leave to go to the toxic environment of Florida when he is currently in a position where everyone loves him.

Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and Texas are all easily more coveted highly rated programs to go to over Florida at this moment in time. I’d even argue that Auburn and Tennessee would be better landing spots

I know those programs aren’t really hiring, but Florida hasn’t been the same program for nearly 20 years

Florida does not want to get into a bidding war with Ole Miss over a controversial and risky hire. The time to have gotten kiffin was back when they fired Mullen.
Sometimes logic flies out the window. But I think he's better off staying at Ole Miss. That can be a very good long career. He's doing well there, and they like him.

I saw an interview with Dabo after his team lost so badly…he said it was going to be a long season, as if he dreaded it.
He’d rather lose than buy into the changing landscape of college football. That’s what you call a dumb coach. He’s willing to bring the program down just to sit in his high horse. At least Saban stepped aside when the changes got too much for him. And some people really wanted Dodo Slimy has Saban’s replacement.

The thing about coaching searches is that is less about who you want and more about who you can get at the time. Had Nick Saban retired after the KSU game then it’s more unlikely we got Kalen Deboer mostly because Washington had everything in place at making a major run in 2023 but flash forward one year and you get a depleted Washington and it’s less of a real dilemma about what is the better situation. Really the only issue CKD had was that his daughters are at UW.

The point is firing a coach is usually a brash and overly emotional response to expectations and you never ask the follow up of “okay…. Now what”. I think given Florida’s track record they aren’t going to be willing to shell out the money to get Kiffin and they are probably looking at best a guy like Kingsbury but likely another guy of the likes of Sun Belt Billy and Coach Mac.

Just look at their hires since Spurrier

Zook- career position coach

Meyer- Utah HC

Mushchamp- career position coach

Mac- CSU coach

Mullen- MSU coach

Napier - ULL coach

Out of all of them only one was a P5 HC coach that was highly sought after.

Kiffin is always looking to leave because he knows no one loves him for very long.

If Dabo doesn't change he might as well retire, no one will hire a coach with his stance on portal, nil, except maybe UNA.

Florida really ought to be taking a step forward with FSU looking like such a joke. Whole state or Florida football looks underwhelming right now.

I remember when Florida was a real contender...!

I *think* Florida will win against Samford next. But after watching how poorly UFL played, I wouldn't take a bet on this game. Mertz just wasn't as good as I expected. Their OL was just "okay". These are things which point to the Head Coach being given the early boot....

I don't think Napier will last until they play UCF.

Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
So you're saying "Saban to Florida"?
Well, not necessarily that, lol. But "a winner" as in someone whose won at the highest level either in college or the NFL. DeBoer doing what he did at UW in two seasons made people recognize he'd won everywhere he'd been. But if he hadn't of done what he did at UW he wouldn't be the HC at Alabama.

The Gators need to hire a coach who's won on the D-1/FBS power 5 level or the NFL level. Billy Napier and their previous hires after Meyer were based on coaching potential not actual results.

With the ACC the dung heap it is, the worst thing would be Clempson winning the ACC with 4 losses or something and getting a first round playoff bye. But I'm sure Dabo can find a way to prevent that from happening.
