Possibly. Things are still on the up and up with recruiting either way.Me thinks that you guys will lose a ton in the portal.

Yeah but you’re not exactly my biggest fan so I wouldn’t expect a charitable interpretation lol. That's not how you are coming across at all.
Well, you are on a rival board defending him. How else is that to be interpreted?Yeah but you’re not exactly my biggest fan so I wouldn’t expect a charitable interpretation lol.
My objections to him are pretty much all moral. I never wanted him and still don’t want him now. Won’t stop me from discussing what I think he’s doing right though.Well, you are on a rival board defending him. How else is that to be interpreted?
Yeah, I agree, you're somewhat "stuck" with him so at that point you pull for him to do well. I'm just looking at Fla St and Florida and the commits starting to decommit because of their horrid seasons and wonder at what point is that going to start happening to Auburn. Because you know Fla St and Florida are offering $$$ to the recruits as well and they're still decommitting. My objections to him are pretty much all moral. I never wanted him and still don’t want him now. Won’t stop me from discussing what I think he’s doing right though.
At the same time we’re stuck with him. Firing him right now could easily result in a lost decade like the Vols suffered through.
The perception right now is that Freeze is still pouring the foundation, which isn’t entirely wrong. It’s selling well across the board except for the hyper-reactionary fans.Yeah, I agree, you're somewhat "stuck" with him so at that point you pull for him to do well. He's doubled his post count this season alone.Harsin is currently working by trolling the barn with jabs on X after their losses
I Think that Auburn is going to see a Tsunami of transfers once the portal opens. Losing, poor offense execution, negative media attention, chance of NFL opportunities degraded, and less prime time opportunities will all culminate in the bigger names on the roster seeking greener pastures. My objections to him are pretty much all moral. I never wanted him and still don’t want him now. Won’t stop me from discussing what I think he’s doing right though.

You're well on your way to a lost decade as it is.My objections to him are pretty much all moral. I never wanted him and still don’t want him now. Won’t stop me from discussing what I think he’s doing right though.

I would argue that you all are on about year 3 of that lost decade campaign as we speak. I know it is hard to see with all the shining optimism of what could be blinding you, but take a step back and smell the roses. It isn't getting any better any time soon on the Plains. In the grand scheme of things Aubarn is now a middle of the pack to just below SEC team with Oklahoma and Texas joining. Unfortunately for any current or future coach, the fans will never accept their mediocrity and they will continue to fire and hire thinking that they should be better than .500 but they just aren't.My objections to him are pretty much all moral. I never wanted him and still don’t want him now. Won’t stop me from discussing what I think he’s doing right though.

I know you objected to his hire. I did not misunderstand your post. You are making the best of a bad situation. Well done. Trufully, I enjpy Auburn dumpster fires but I feel bad for fans like you who want to win rhe right way, who want the high road.More like stuck with him.
The biggest problem Auburn has is that they are obsessed with just beating Bama. Every move they make is to try and outdo Bama in everything and in every sport. Their focus for 12 months out of the year is on one game, and they fail to realize they have 11 other games they need to prepare for. I would venture to say that Bama is brought up in every practice or film study down on the plains.
One of the issues I see with the argument about "what Freeze was left with" is that I thought the majority of the current team was brought in by Freeze. Is that not correct? The perception right now is that Freeze is still pouring the foundation, which isn’t entirely wrong. It’s selling well across the board except for the hyper-reactionary fans.
If you start seeing recruiting slip at this point then his seat will get rocket hot quick.
He was left with almost nothing... maybe 25 or so D1 players who were field worthy as AuDub noted above. A bunch of not good players. I can't recall how they did with his first recruiting class, but average overall I think for the SEC. He brought in a bunch of mediocre portal guys, mostly G5 level guys. But... I don't really follow that closely so I could be way off.One of the issues I see with the argument about "what Freeze was left with" is that I thought the majority of the current team was brought in by Freeze. Well, on the surface it appears that ya'll are on year 4 or 5 of a decade. My objections to him are pretty much all moral. I never wanted him and still don’t want him now. Won’t stop me from discussing what I think he’s doing right though.

And that's what makes him the smartest man to come from the loveliest village. From an outsider's perspective, it looked to me like Harsin wanted to get fired just to take the buyout and retire early. (Is he employed anywhere now?) Maybe that's not an accurate accusation, but it sure looked like it. If so, I wonder if that was the plan from the beginning or if the bright lights of the SEC became too much for him. Any insights?
