1. As a percentage.......how many people in the country are registered voters and how many are not?

2. If someone wanted to register to vote, but needed help to so do...other than the local elections office, a friend, or family member*......what apparatus is in place to help them?

* there are those without friends or family members

3. If you knew of someone who needed help registering to vote....would you help them do it?

4. Should we be doing more to get folks registered?

5. Should we be doing more to get folks to vote. Not just this election - but all of them?
Yes and yes.

Georgia registers you to vote when you get your driver's license, which seems a pretty good idea.

The EC is likely a major obstacle in voter turnout; there are too many states where your presidential vote is meaningless.

One thing that would help is if government stopped all the performative BS and got back to actual governance.

Put someone worth voting for out there and I predict more people will vote. Simple as that.
Honestly, I think a lot of people just don't bother. It never has truly mattered to that type of person who was running. I knew people who never voted. It was strange to me since I grew up around people who wouldn't dream of NOT voting. I just had a conversation with a young adult who absolutely believes her vote doesn't count and never has. We were busy with other things so I never got a chance to ask her why she thinks that and I really wish I had. She grew up here in Florida. I wanted to find out if she was referring to Presidential elections or elections overall.

I have two grandchildren who don't vote at all. They just don't believe it makes any difference in their daily lives...

I'm so sorry to see that. Mine are toddlers so I'm assuming I may never know how they feel about voting. My kids are both very into politics as is the rest of my family. So were my parents. Not that all of us agree on everything or ever did, for that matter. My children seem to be on the same page as I am.

As early voting begins in GA, Jimmy Carter achieved his goal to live long enough to vote for Kamala Harris.
I'm also reading that there was record turnout for the first day of early voting there. What that will actually mean as to who wins Georgia, of course, remains to be seen. I do take it as a possible sign that more people think this might be a critical election.
