This was a really really bad loss. Oklahoma had pretty much their entire receiving core injured and they really didn't need them because Oklahoma had around 67 passing yards. What killed us was the QB play and the playcalling on offense. The lack of adjustments on defense were also killer.
Some coaches need to learn to make adjustments or something needs to change

No one can convince me that Ty, Dylan, or Austin couldn’t operate the Offense better.

Ty and Dylan I know would at least be able to distribute the ball better and with Ty you get Manziel/Bryce level escape ability and avoid all the negative sacks.

#4 is the worst Bama QB I’ve seen since the Guillon/Pennington days.

He flat can’t read defenses or consistently distribute the ball.

Great straight line sprinter but brings nothing else to table other than random deep shots.

You can’t win that way vs competent defenses and competent defensive coaches.
Oh, you’re right. I guess the point I was making was that the backups not only get almost no reps (and therefore, no experience), but the few reps they do get is running the same limited offense that the whole team has been chained to.

when they made the decision to live or die with Milroe, it cut off most of the options to go another direction if the gamble failed.

But again, you’re correct that anything would be an improvement, just not optimal.

I'm tired of the one player show on offense. It's cost us an entire season.
I am as well, and I've always cautioned against over-reliance on the quarterback.

The main difference in who you and I blame lies with the fact that I think the coaches are responsible for the play calling and who is on the field. It's a one man show because they let it become a one man show. If I call for Milroe to hand the ball off for instance and I forbid Milroe to check out of it, it's going to be a handoff or he's on the bench.

You overly rely on the QB and you get a offense that lives and dies by the way he plays and the choices he makes, and furthermore that lives and dies by the way receivers and pass blockers play as well.

I had a bad feeling about this game. There is no excuse for being this unprepared. Anyone who has any knowledge of history would know that it doesn’t matter that they were 1-5 in the SEC. The last three times we played those guys we had superior teams. For two of those games we were vastly superior. We lost both of those games, and we probably would have lost the other one if it had lasted 5 minutes longer.

Imagine how it must have stung to be 1-5 the first year in the SEC after all the jackassing they’ve done for the last 30 years about how overrated the SEC is. What better way to salve the hurt feelings of a once-proud program than to knock off the leviathan? If you can’t see that coming with everything on the line, you’re probably not going to have much appreciation for the need to beat the barn, either. Ask Bill Curry how far that will get you.

Some of you saying KDB is on the hot seat are insane. This guy inherited a horrible team culture that Saban allowed to flourish. Give him a few seasons to get his guys in and change that and we’ll be fine.

But here is the thing… Everyone is comfortable right now blaming Deboer for this but the uncomfortable thing is Saban did the same thing in this regard. In all honesty I think had Saban made a firm decision at the end of the spring last year then we might be in a better situation in 2024, but it might have costed us everything in 2023. It’s been obvious that Milroe never was either staff’s vision of the offense that they wanted to run, but for whatever reason you wish to buy into he was the only guy that could emerge to play with this team.

I think had Milroe never started a down last year, and Deboer was still the coach in 2024 then it’s highly unlikely that Milroe would be the starter. I still don’t know if Simpson would have been the clear choice of starter either.
