Not feeling good about the Iron Bowl at all

I don't feel good about it, either. Our punter will probably be the player of the game.
Na, we'll be fine, because we talk the talk. Just because previous talking didn’t work, doesn’t mean we won’t keep talking. “We've got to finish. There's so much left for the football season. We've got to get everyone together to have a like-mindedness and just keep on competing. Every opportunity that we have, we've just got to seize it.”

Auburn should be competitive. They are better than their record. Almost anybody can beat this team on a given day. This team and coaching staff has been an enigma to me.
Seems like we roll when the game plan works, and when it doesn’t we get rolled.

Feels like driving with GPS and you take a wrong turn and it says “rerouting…make a u-turn?“ and we’re like “shut up…we can get there this way too” while driving past a “Bridge Out Ahead” sign.

There's a small (albeit non-zero) chance I'm even going to turn the game on.
I feel you.

I’ll probably check in at kickoff just to see who runs onto the field on offense.

If it’s the same ole same ole I’ll probably turn it off and just check the score on and off.

I have an Aunt who is a die hard fan since the 60s who told me she turned the OU game off when the pick 6 happened.

She always watches until the end.

This team broke her.

I’m kind of personally upset about that..lol

I don’t like the upward swing for Auburn right before the Iron Bowl, coupled with a deflating loss for us. AU is a momentum team, perhaps more so than any P5 team in CFB. They’ve been that way for years. That said:

With the notable exceptions of 2002, 2010 and (arguably) 2014, Auburn does not play all that well in Tuscaloosa when it doesn’t clearly have the superior roster. The last Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa that was really close at all, or ever even in doubt, was 2014.

If we come out fired up, angry, and ready to play I still like our chances. AU has played much better in recent weeks but is still a team with a lot of deficiencies and they don’t historically show well on the road in this game. If we are hung over and feeling sorry for ourselves, anything is on the table.

One of my biggest gripes with Saban was that I never felt he took the AU game as seriously as perhaps he should have. He admitted this year that in his mind UT was always the bigger rival. AU almost always came out more fired up than we did, even in years that we won. AU won literally every game in the series against Saban when the two teams were on, or close, to equal footing. Saban also nearly lost three games to vastly inferior Auburn teams (albeit all in Jordan Hare). I’d like to see DeBoer reverse that trend.

All we have to do is roll out the Okie gameplan and refuse to change and Aubie will have the hay in the barn by halftime.

It doesn't matter it's Auburn & I guarantee our fans will be rocking Bryant Denny next Saturday..

Don't none of us want to give The Barners bragging rights all year long until the next game losing to them..

BDS will be rocking I promiseeeeee you that my friend..
That's exactly right! I don't get why some think that Bryant Denny would actually be empty for an Iron Bowl. Even in the dark days before Saban's arrival when we were coming into an IB with a losing record, BDS would STILL be rocking for an IB. As rough as 2004 was, that place was electric when an undefeated barn team came in.

Spot on! While auburn has built some momentum, there are a few things to consider. First, they were probably due for an upset against somebody,, especially given who all had to travel to auburn this year. They were going to get one of those teams. There is a question mark as to how that win over aTm carries over the very week on the road in a place where they haven't done particularly well. Not having the game in auburn works against them moreso than people think.

Also, even with the win over aTm, they blew a 21-0 lead and for a bit, that stadium went quiet as a mouse sleeping on cotton. aTm had at least 4 or 5 chances to win but just wouldn't pull the trigger. Had auburn built on that 21-0 lead and won something like 42-14, yeah....that would be a different story. But they had to hold on for dear life for the win after going up by 3 TDs at home.

Then there is the fact that they had an absolute marathon of a game. 4 overtime periods. Let's not underestimate how much that took out of them. Of course, with this unexplainable season, who really knows, but with us having the home field advantage, and them at least a little gassed from the marathon with aTm, I'm just not seeing a Tubberville vs Shula kind of IB next week

Agreed…but the 4 OTs combined for about 12-15 plays total…
After the 1st two possessions, you just go for a two point conversion.

Something else to consider. Two years ago, the barn came in hot, having won 2-3 in a row under Caddy as the interim HC while we looked like hot garbage after a loss to LSU and an unwatchable sloppy win over Austin Peay. Just a little food for thought
