With regard to the source of LANK funds, outside of my wife buying a shirt, I have never seen anything with the word on it except when it is one of the players involved. I find it difficult to think that there is much of a revenue stream from the merch.
There's a whole section of LANK gear at the Corner Supe Store. It's a wall-display, so it must sell pretty well on game day.

Went to a game earlier this year. I stayed at the tailgate tent drinking beer and the teens/early 20s that were with us headed to the Supe Store to buy tshirts, etc. At least half came back with something LANK-branded.

Well Squib, guess that shows what I know/don't know.

The LANK cabal really is extorting playing time, then someone needs to start demanding production or shut off the tap. There's no LANK without the script A in it

No, it just shows how this dumb crap takes off and why it makes more money that anyone would expect.

Better not see any of it walk in the door for Thanksgiving. I'll have a pile of Harry's and Houndstooth t-shirts ready to force any LANKers to change clothes before making a plate.

The issue could have been nixed in the bud last year, but Coach was probably already 90% decided it was his last season and instead of saying "That's my team on the field" for the rest of the year after the USF game, he caved to try to salvage his swan song and go out on a high note.

Watching Saturday nights game and seeing the way some of the QB keepers were going in the first half, I had to turn it off for my own sense of sanity. That little cabal of players need to be encouraged to move on and there is unfortunately going to have to be some form of legislation that is going to have to try to wrangle in the Wild West of the NIL.

I'm pretty sure NILs can't be performance or playing time - based. And I also think they can't be "if you come to this school you'll get $x but if you leave you stop getting $x. " Because it's NAME IMAGE LIKENESS which has nothing to do with the school - so they say. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I've got to think these NIL deals are time limited, like a year, subject to being renewed at the end of each year and paid out monthly. I can't believe anyone would pay a kid a huge chuck of up front money to come and play for their school only to have the player skip out to another school at the end of the year.

anybody paying up front or committing to multi-year deals is, shall we say, less than intelligent.

So, IMO, we are no better off than we were when Coach Saban arrived in 2007.
From a Discipline and Preparation point I fear you are right.

That team that was on the field vs OU played like a Dubose/Shula team and the answers in the postgame conference had the same vibe.

Like a few other members here I too am beginning to question if we hired the right guy.

If Milroe and the posse on offense play Saturday like they did against Oklahoma, then the only thing that will sell is merchandise that says:

We Fire……

B.L.A.N.K.S.

(Because Letting A Naysayer Know Sucks)
Yeah, I mean, you could take existing merchandise and add a "B" and an "S" to "LANK."
