Every qb should have that mentality: Be that no.1
Most highly ranked and touted QB's coming out of high school do. The combination of the attributes I mentioned is the great separator. OL gets 5 starters. DL gets 3-4 starters plus 3-4 more rotational guys. QB gets 1 and everyone else gets to watch. Confidence can quickly turn into bitterness and "the grass is greener", particularly if you have always been the best and have other schools and players telling you that you should be starting. Hopefully KR has this combination so he can reach his maximum potential, but also do it in Tuscaloosa and not some other school.

Mack was an early HS Graduate and rightfully a RS his 1 year at Washington. Very young, especially for a QB, and probably still growing into his lanky body at 6-6. We, the fans in general, don't know a great deal about his ability and/or development since arriving in T-Town but it wouldn't shock me for him to be in the forefront this spring.

Does anyone find it odd that returning to Alabama as the QB wasn't mentioned...
I'm more laughing at the turned down multiple seven figure offers part.

It's probably more that nobody in that range also wanted to bow down to his demands to be QB1 no matter what.

I KNOW that TCU wouldn't take him.

I'm just ready for the whole saga to be over.

almost smells like a leak from the school to make sure he/his camp knows it’s time to move on … and I’m good with that
It takes me back to what Tyler Siskey said on a podcast maybe last week. Problems in the locker room coming from players trying to outbrand The Brand. Gotta think he was taking squarely about LANK

My guess is once this season is fully over and time passes, there will be more "leaks" and people talking about what went on in the locker room from Nick's last season (2023) through CKD's first season.

A lot of Lonergan’s rise in popularity is mostly due to JM and TS never being able to separate themselves from each other and DL’s familiarity with 2nd and 3rd string guys. IDK if he really had a shot whatsoever and was more of a “i just wish someone would win it” type guy amongst the fans. In my opinion of watching these guys in REC scrimmages is that Lonergan was the most consistent scrimmage to scrimmage and Milroe was by far the worst guy at practice and Simpson always seemed to have the best arm out of all of them.

I suspect Simpson maybe our Jake Coker or Mac Jones guy who gets one year to shine and we have a battle next year. But then again I could see us going after a one year guy in the portal to do the same thing. Who really knows but I think we go for an upper class man next year.
Isn't it an assumption to say that Ty never separated himself in practice and wasn't the preferred QB and other considerations such as LANK had Milroe playing 95% of the snaps. Incredible to think that this is where college football has come to!

Unless we start only getting fullbacks, guards, tackles, and blocking Wr's in the portal, I think it's a good sign that we have moved on philosophically to doing what CKD came to do in TTown offensively.
From what I've heard that's precisely what's happening - the roster needs some work to fit what CKD wants / needs and this is the offseason to get the team moving in that direction.

IOW, some of these defections, even among some 'higher profile players', were almost certainly mutual.

Look no further than Law leaving. Unbelievable player and guy who will play on Sunday's but he isn't a fit in what we will be looking to transition to next season. Out with the old and in with the new and I'm here for it.

Just so there's no confusion and misinformation, Law wasn't asked to leave nor was Odom. They both were wanted back and left on their own accord.
